I like them thawed or you can steam them for a few minutes. I suggest you eat a

few thawed and see what you think of them.

Edamame Question

I have some frozen shelled edamame, do I have to cook them or can I just

defrost them?

I am making a edamame, black bean salad.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Gayle

When I use them in salads I just thaw and use. Same with frozen peas. Let me

know how you like them

Have a wonderful day. How is your weather?

Re: Edamame Question

HI Donna:

Thank you. The package has cooking instructions however does not say

anything about eating them uncooked.

Happy Easter

Gayle,

You should drop the frozen edamame into boiling water and heat briefly. Then

quickly remove and plunge into ice water to prevent it from becoming mushy. I

don't think you can eat uncooked edamame but my suspicion is that many

manufacturers cook the product thoroughly before packaging so you may be okay

anyway.

But never hurts to be safe! Enjoy!

Abbey:

Thank you, I ended up running hot water over them.

The salad was ok, I think I need to add some more Mrs Dash to it and then it

will be just right.
