Guest guest
Hi All, I'm April, a member who's returning after being off-line for a while. I have a question about nutritional yeast. I had a mock " chik patty " recipe that requires a 1 tbsp of nutritional yeast with the rest of the ingredients. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find this stuff in any grocery stores near me. Can anyone recommend a substitute for nutritional yeast that I could use in a patty recipe? I appreciate any ideas you all may have. Thanks, April
Guest guest
You can find it at any health food store and many places on line, including Amazon I can't think of anything to substitute for it. Guest guest
hi april, welcome back. you can sub brewer's yeast for nutritional yeast...they are basically the same except the way they are grown. the brewer's yeast is a little more bitter. you can get both at a health food store or whole foods type store or order it online. they may even sell it at places like gnc or large chain pharmacies (rite aid, cvs....) that sell supplements. don't sub a live yeast (like the kind you bake with)...it's not the same thing and may actually rob your body of nutrients. hope that helps, susie --- April <aprilis7211 wrote: > Hi All, > I'm April, a member who's returning after being > off-line for a while. > I have a question about nutritional yeast. Guest guest
Hi All, Thanks very much for the nutritional yeast tips. I'll be sure to check my local health food stores for it. --April , " artichoke72x " <artichoke72x wrote: > > hi april, > welcome back. > you can sub brewer's yeast for nutritional > yeast...they are basically the same except the way > they are grown. the brewer's yeast is a little more > bitter. you can get both at a health food store or > whole foods type store or order it online. they may > even sell it at places like gnc or large chain > pharmacies (rite aid, cvs....) that sell supplements. > don't sub a live yeast (like the kind you bake > with)...it's not the same thing and may actually rob > your body of nutrients. > > hope that helps, > susie > > --- April <aprilis7211 wrote: > > > Hi All, > > I'm April, a member who's returning after being > > off-line for a while. > > I have a question about nutritional yeast.
