Guest guest
Fascinating! That would not work on my regular coffee grinder, however. It is a vinage 1930's Model 9, KitchenAid coffee grinder. There is a jar that holds the beans, then they go down into the burrs and then the ground coffee comes out of the spout into a measuring glass. I don't have an instruction booklet for it.....in fact, I don't even know if an instruction book came with it, but I think, if I needed to clean it out, I could take off the jar and clean it with a brush. But, so far, so good and it has been being used for 74 years now......needless to say, I did get it second-hand. I do have a smaller coffee grinder, larger than the one in the video, but smaller than my KitchenAid grinder. I use it to grind flavored beans as you are not supposed to grind the flavored beans in an old burr grinder like the KitchenAid......so, if it needs to be cleaned out, I am set!! Thanks for posting this information!! Nancy C. This little clip is a BIG help! http://www.chow.com/stories/10959 Donna I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one. Guest guest
I didn't see where to read " how to " clean the coffee grinders, but only saw the tip " to clean " them. I clean mine with a dry cloth first, then I put a 1/2 slice of bread in it and pulse a few times. The bread bits pick up the little fine dust in the corners, and then I just wipe them out. Your post reminds me I better do that again soon; it sure has been a while. ~ PT ~ , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > This little clip is a BIG help! > > http://www.chow.com/stories/10959 > > Donna >
