Guest guest
Just came from Marukai, one of my local Japanese grocery stores and the rice shelf was a little bare (although there was quite a bit of brown rice). The sign said they will not run out of rice, but the price will be going up 30%. I just paid $5.98 for a kilo of Kagayaki Select. I would have got the 25 lb. bag I usually buy but still have 7 or 8 lbs of short grain and i just read an article in the files PT submitted (vegetarian pantry, I think)that said not to keep rice over three months. Since I have 5 types of rice, that means I have around 20 lbs and some for well over 3 months. I'm going to have to look into that. I thought dried grains and beans stored for much longer than that. Guest guest
I went to my local Costcos and they were all out of rice at one and the other only had brown rice. Last time I got brown rice from them it had little bugs in it. So basically it looks like grains just aren't as plentiful. Sarah B. " Cuthbert J.
