Guest guest
I can't remember if I posted this or not. Just came across it in some files I was cleaning out. David Pimentel of Cornell University calculates that it takes nearly twice as much fossil energy to produce a typical American diet than a pure vegetarian diet. This works out to about an extra 150 gallons of fossil fuels per year for a meat-eater. This means that meat-eaters are " driving " an extra eleven miles every day whether they really drive or not, when we look at how much extra fuel it takes to feed them. http://bicycleuniverse.info/transpo/beef.html

Guest guest
I guess that's interesting but the most important thing to remember is that eating dead sliced animals is just disgusting and crude! Guest guest
I agree, that is a very interesting article, Jim. Thank you for reminding us all that we are doing a good thing for the environment by refusing meat. ~ PT ~ , Lisamarie Dean <antcheek wrote: > > Very, VERY interesting article--and I got the point the first time I read it!
