Guest guest
I like the Boca vegan burgers! I've never actually made my own veggie burgers yet; I'll have to do that sometime, and as far as toppings I just like to put BBQ sauce and either mustard or veganaisse on mine. feralvegetarian_moderators <feralvegetarian_moderators wrote: Time for new questions of the week [QOTW]. Guest guest
Really good bread Lots'a tomato and lettuce purple onion alfafa sprouts galore avocado miracle whip optional philly creme cheese and optional swiss veggie burger? very optional The wife hated miracle whip for 20 years. Suddenly, she's a fan. I mush the avocado in it's shell, cutt the end off so 5/8th " is exposed, and squeeze it out. No slices to squirt away; it conforms and fills gaps. Guest guest
Hmmm, Veggie burgers....... I. Cannot remember the exact name of the one purchased at Costco, Dr Preuggers or a name similar, not sure of the spelling, but is a good one. I often saute onions to top the burger when I prepare it. 2. I haven't a favorite recipe for a veggie burger but have thought about it before. 3. I'd really like to use some brown rice or quinoa, maybe both, add green and red peppers, maybe roast them, carrot, onion, jalepeno pepper, (without seeds) spinach, then top with a juicy slice of tomato, romaine lettuce, with a little salsa or pesto; and chow down. By golly I think I'll try to make this in the coming week! Thank you for the incentive! Take care, Linda J Solomon.....Farmington Hills, MI ---- feralvegetarian_moderators 6/15/2008 11:55:13 AM QOTW: What is your favorite veggie burger? Time for new questions of the week [QOTW]. Guest guest
My favorite veggie burger found down here is the gardenburger, which happens to be the only one anyone carries - not many 'whacko nut jobs " like us who are vegetarian. & nbsp; oh i forgot commie whacko nut jobs. & nbsp; Must keep it accurate. Favorite recipe isn't really for a burgerish one, but my mock crab cakes which are on file here. i love those things and the kid ate them but let's not tell him he ate...gasp...zucchini. Favorite burgerish one is & nbsp; ground beefish TVP with minced onions, peppers, garlic, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, grilled outside with a side of grilled tomatoes, corn, squash, pepper rings. yum. & nbsp; Favorite beanish one is the standard black bean burger, even if it tends to fall apart. condiments on the mock crabish cake - lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, grilled red pepper ring, tartar sauce condiments on the beefish one - lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, miracle whip, all on a whole wheat and honey roll. condiments on the beanish one - salsa, lettuce, cheddar cheese Groan, i'm ready for lunch and wanna burger now but i'm out of beefish! & nbsp; (TVP, yum) ,___

Guest guest
> 1. What is your favorite brand name veggie burger? ~ I think it is great that there are so many brands of veggie burgers available now. I don't buy them all regularly, but I do try them all when I see a new brand. I still find that Gardenburger original is my favorite veggie patty simpy because it is not " meaty " in texture or flavor; it isn't trying to be a hamburger. As far as the veg burger with the most hamburger-like flavor, Boca brand comes as close as I care to remember. > 2. What is your favorite homemade veggie burger-patty recipe? ~ Jalapeno Red Bean Burgers. I like so many others that we have in the files now, too. They are all good and I encourage everyone here to try several; you will be amazed at the wonderful variety. Homemade veggie burgers can't be beat, and it is so economical to make your own. > 3. If you were loading your veggie burger up with toppings and condiments, what would be your perfect burger sandwich? Whole wheat bun, mayo, catsup, dill pickle slices, sauted onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and mashed avocado. Yum! ~ PT ~

Guest guest
Hi All, I like the Morningstar Farms' veggie burgers--especially the new Italian herb chik patties. I haven't made my own yet, though. So for now, I'm just content to eat my chik patties with tomatoes, green peppers, and mustard (well, scratch the tomatoes right now due to the samonella outbreak!). Smiles, April
