I just made a new folder in our group's Links

section titled TVP. Please go there to check it out

and add any links and URLs you have found helpful

about textured vegetable protein.

Do you know some great places to buy TVP online?

How about some sites with recipes and use ideas?

Put them in this folder or post them here for me to

add.

Thank you! :)

YAY, now to get more vegetarians using the stuff rather than the way overpriced

things in the supermarket.

& nbsp;

Here's another link. This one goes to Harmony House and they offer different

types of TVP but the big PLUS they add is offering a small trial pack for 2.95

for a 4 ounce bag (equivalent of 12 ounces of meat.) I love the Hamish bits in

my bean soups and casseroles. yum yum.

& nbsp;

Do try making hamburger patties out of the TVP. I add a little " steak seasoning "

to the mix, along with some rehydrated chopped onion and it is pretty close to

what I remembered a hamburger cooked on the grill. Put some lettuce and tomato

on top and maybe a bit of avocado slices and call me for dinner.

& nbsp;

I say pretty close because TVP hasn't the same fat content as meat, (fat carries

flavor, moisture, so add veggies and a couple drops of vegetable oil), but the

mouth feel is close enough to be the same.

I would like some more sources for this stuff too. I like to shop around for the

best deals

online. Isn't there some site called healthy-eating? Does anyone have the url

for that

place? tia

I've been using their hamish bits and recently bought the chickenish and beefish

and love it. Don't do as I did - I put 1 cup of hamish bits in the beans,

thinking it would be like real meat but it isn't, it is 3 to 1! So instead of

one cup of hamish bits in the beans, I had three. & nbsp;

& nbsp;

The beefish even made a good burger and the grandson has been eating tacos,

burritos and taco salad made from beefish bits for months without knowing.

& nbsp;

AND the 5 count pantry stuffer is on sale! Whoooo hoo, sorry, gotta run and

place an order before you guys buy the store out. Love and hugs, Jeanne

I agree with you on their food products, they are quite good and the ham taste

really good. I bought all 5 of the gallon jugs and I have never been unhappy

with their product or service. If you order, be sure to put in the code of

" strawberry " I think that is what it is and get a free quart of freeze dried

strawberries.
