Guest guest
My first experience with tabouleh was when I was a fairly new cook and just flexing my veggie muscles after having moved out on my own. I wanted to take something natural, healthy, delcious and vegetarian to a family picnic at my boyfriend's parent's house. I had my Moosewood cookbook by Mollie Katzen, so I used the recipe from that. It sure made a lot though. Everyone was nice about it, and most tried it, even though I could tell they were not impressed. I guess it was just something a bit too different to them; most had never heard of bulgur and just were put off by it I guess. Maybe because bulgur rhymes with vulger? *lol* Needless to say, I didn't take home a clean bowl and had a lot of salad leftover. Bummer eh? ~ PT ~ , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > Hi, > Please share your tabouli recipe with the rest of us. With all these great reviews, I am eager to try it. I personally love parsely and eat it all by itself. lol it tastes so fresh and green and alive. > Thanks, > Judy
Guest guest
You know, it is a salad that has grown on me. I like now, much more than I did the first time I tried it. Guest guest
A vegan " joke " : if ten vegans go to a pot luck, three of them will undoubtedly bring tabouli! I like my tabouli somewhat mildly flavored, figuring that the onions, cumin, lemon juice etc. is tasty enough by itself. I've found family members drowning my dish in salad dressing on occasion. BTW, I've realized that my tabouli recipe comes from Martha Rose Shulman's " Fast Vegetarian Feasts " , but I STILL can't locate the actual cookbook. , " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll wrote: > > My first experience with tabouleh was when I was > a fairly new cook and just flexing my veggie muscles > after having moved out on my own.
