Guest guest
Hi Laura, Welcome, I too am a vegan. I don't live in Florida but in Texas (also known as cattle country). This is a good group and glad you joined. I'm enjoying it myself. windy --- Laura <euphoriaswonder wrote: > Hey everyone! Guest guest
Okay, that's trippy...bescause I have a friend Kris that lived in Manhattan. I lived in Abilene (desolate place...grr...). I like it here also. I find that like, EVERYONE I meet is a freakin carnivore though. The only other vegetarians here are my boyfriend, my son, and my boyfriends parents (they're SDA's), and that's it. I haven't found any health food stores around here, but next time I go to Panama City, I'll look. Surely I'll find a few there. ~Laura~ --- Kris <kristc99 wrote: > Florida here! and I moved here from Kansas!! I was > in Manhattan, and now I'm in > Sarasota. Guest guest
desolate.. LOL Describes much of KS unfortunately. I don't know anything about northern FL so I can't help you there, but I know what you mean about everyone being a carnivore (wasn't it like this in KS also?) The only place I've found that is much different is California where vegetarians and vegans seem almost normal. Around here most of the time I get " WHAT DO YOU EAT??? " like there is nothing in the world except meat. I figure if they know a living, breathing, healthy vegetarian at least they will be a bit more familiar with the possibility so maybe the next one won't get such an astonished reaction. POT roast, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings... you get the idea... cheryll
Guest guest
Ok, so I was told to make a short introduction of myself for social purposes so here goes: I've been a vegetarian for four months now... I have decided to be a vegetarian for: Health, fighting animal cruelty, and overall, just to add a nice change to my life... I changed my diet by the " cold turkey " method.... You may call me Scott or Darren, but I prefer the second one... If you have any questions for me you can reach me @ d.hpsion
