soy alert and Weston Price Foundation

Well, I wrote to my friend who gave me the soy alert article asking what she

knew of the Weston Price Foundation and their ties to meat and dairy

farming. She sent me a " Letter from Weston Price, " which states their case

very clearly. Rather than forwarding I have saved it as rich text and

attached it. That way, if you are going to be offended by someone who is

promoting the eating of meat, you just don't need to open it. He lines out

many arguments against the arguments of vegetarians in general, but I have

more arguments for him if I was so inclined. I want to be clear that I in no

way agree with the perspective the foundation puts forward. I did,

however, find there to be some interesting information about dietary

concerns surrounding grains and soy. This little tidbit in the middle

somewhere was worth the read. In general, the foundation seems to be coming

from an ethical standpoint. I just don't agree with the meat eating thing.

Also, it seems, the tone at the outset was a little " in your face. " I hope

someone gives it a read so you can let me know if you agree or not.

I don't know if I am doing something wrong but I could not find the

attachment to your message. Could it be that the server does not accept

attachments?

Correct, our group does not allow attachments.

If anyone wishes to share an article, post the URL in

the links section of the group. Thank you.

My personal opinion on the soy " scare " alerts:

they are typically spread by groups that

lean toward anti-vegetarian. I don't think most people

have to worry about eating soy now and then.

A few people have food sensitivities, and should be

aware of what those are and plan their diets accordingly.

I do not want new vegetarians getting scared off or to

get the impression that being a vegetarian is dangerous

or difficult. On the contrary, being a vegetarian is simple,

natural for humans and quite easy to accomplish with

all of the wonderful recipes and advice shared here. :)

Being a vegetarian is very easy. I am glad to read this list is not about soy

debates or about

spreading scare articles that make vegetarianism seem like a mystical

accomplishment or

some intense change in which one needs to become a dietician to pull off.
