I rinse my potatoes after chopping them into the desired size and it does a

great job of removing extra starch. I don't recommend adding bleach. I just

put my potatoes into a strainer bowl and put it under running water and toss the

potatoes with my hands while the water runs over them. The starching water goes

out the strainer bowl holes.

Washing chopped potatoes

Greetings!

Has anyone tried washing chopped potato slices in cold water mixed

with a lil bleach, to remove starch? Feedback highly appreciated!

Best regards.

I don't think this is a good idea!  Potato is porous...bleach may sink in??

Poison??

I wouldn't use bleach as bleach is poisonous to us.

I slice the potatoes and then soak them for maybe 10 minutes then drain.

This will remove some of the starch.

DO NOT USE BLEACH!!!!!  Unless you like ingesting a caustic poison that will

burn your insides, destroy your kidneys, diminish your cognative and mental

abilities, and/or kill you.

Seriously, do not use bleach to clean vegetables or fruits.  Bleach is very bad

for you.  You can soak potatoes in water only to help remove excess starch.  DO

NOT USE BLEACH!!!!!!
