You'd probably have to use a spoon :-) Another idea might be to just put the dry ingredients in an attractive jar and attach a card with the baking directions. I remember that I posted a recipe for " Brownies-in-a-jar " last year around this time. Guest guest
I was wondering the same thing. From this reply I'm assuming the mouth of these jars is as wide as the jar itself? I don't do any canning, so I'm not familiar with all the different kinds of jars available. That said, I'm very interested in trying this. I guess I'll have to check out a store that sells canning supplies and look for jars with a wide mouth? Guest guest
I have heard that these breads are not safe. I did a google search of " breads canned unsafe " and this is one of the links I found. I do not know the validity of the safety or not. I personally choose not to make them. http://extension.usu.edu/publica/news/aska/aug2100.htm Take Care, Laura P. - " Ann Hunter " <crzymom <Veg-Recipes > > > PatH wrote: > > > > who's tried this kind of thing -- in a canning jar? > > > Banana Walnut Bread in a Gift Jar > > This sounds good, but how would you get it out of the jar to serve? > You'd probably have to use a spoon :-) > > Another idea might be to just put the dry ingredients in an attractive > jar and attach a card with the baking directions.
