New here - Cathy

Hi all. I am new here, and I just wanted to say hello. I was invited

here by a friend from another group. I am not a vegetarian, but over the

past 10 years or so I have naturally gotten further and further away

from meat.

 

 

 

My husband is at a trade show this weekend, so I am left to cook what I

want without having to take his tastes into consideration. Last night I

made a spicy bean soup with loads of veggies. Today I'm going to try

making hummus for the first time. I had a hard time finding tahini paste

in the grocery store. I thought it was Asian.

 

 

 

I am looking forward to trying the recipes you all have here.

HI Cathy:

 

In my family my daughter and I are vegetarian and my husband and son are

not. I no longer cook meat unless I can get it from the package to the pan with

out eve touching it, however my husband does.

 

The Chicago area has some good vegetarian restaurants.

 

Check out the files there are tons of recipes all tried and true.

Hi Cathy,

Welcome to the group.  I hope you enjoy it here.  Be sure to check out our files

section....there are tons of tried and true vegetarian recipes there, including

many hummus recipes. 

 

 

 

You are right, tahini can be hard to find in grocery stores.  Each store keeps

it in a different place....international section, whole foods section, or even

with peanut butter.
