Guest guest
I have given up soda or pop this week as well as meat. I balled like a 2 year old last night watching PetaTV on the slaudering of pigs! Hubby comforted me while crying on pig treatment and said he trully understood so the making fun of me will die down now! Anyways, my diet coke with caffeine addiction is causing me severe headaches!!! Is there a food I can eat to get rid of these headaches without drinking coffee or more caffeine? Thanks in advance, MichelleS
Guest guest
I have cried for the pigs, too. I know you will understand that statement. ________________________________ Michelle <msteen Saturday, January 10, 2009 8:11:37 AM Caffeine headaches? Guest guest
Take a nap. You're likely to be more tired without the caffeine that your body is used to and a nap will keep your nerves from being so raw and help you to relax. A massage is anther good thing that can help. Also take some advail, tyelnol or Motrin. Avoid Excedrin that has caffeine in it. Drink more water. Exercise more for the endorphine high that it gives you. Here is a good article on dealing with caffeine withdrawals. http://www.ehow.com/how_2090812_beat-caffeine-withdrawal.html?ref=fuel & utm_sourc\ e= & utm_medium=ssp & utm_campaign=yssp_art Judy Michelle Saturday, January 10, 2009 8:11 AM Caffeine headaches? Guest guest
Caffeine withdrawl is the worst! The splitting headaches can last for days. Advil and Tylenol do not work for me. I find it easier to slowly ween off caffeine rather than going " cold turkey " . Drink lots of water to help the body detox. Get lots of sleep if you can. The detox shouldn't last more than 3 days. Guest guest
I am not a soda drinker but I drink a lot of coffee. I often mix caffeinated coffee with decaf (half and half). If I run out of caffeinated, I will use only decalf for awhile and vice versa. I guess I'm lucky because even when I have been drinking caffeinated coffee exclusively, and then switch to decalf, I have never noticed any signs of withdrawal, and I never get headaches from caffeine or from suddenly going without caffeine. If you are a soda drinker, maybe you could mix your caffeinated drink with a non caffeinated soft drink and gradually wean yourself off caffeine that way.
