Guest guest
I love Annie's dressings! My daughters would even eat them! My personal favorite is homemade blue cheese dressing... but I love a good vinegarette - " vegi1angelg " <vegi1angelg Wednesday, December 05, 2001 12:21 PM Favorite Salad dressing > What is everybodys favorite salad dressing? Guest guest
I like several of Annie's brand dressings, esp the sun dried tomatoe, and I also enjoy a good Ranch, one with lots of garlic, not the buttermilk ones. Guest guest
If you like Italian/vinaigrette, try this. You probably won't buy any from the store again. We use this as salad dressing, also brush on portabellas or tempeh/vegetable kabobs on the grill. Very tasty. Italian salad dressing or marinade 1/2 cup good quality olive oil 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar 1 tsp salt 1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp oregano leaves 1/2 tsp dry mustard 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp thyme 2 cloves garlic, put thru garlic press Shake all ingredients together in a tightly covered jar. Refrigerate for a few hours before using to blend flavors well. Shake before using. Best to store in refrigerator. , " vegi1angelg " <vegi1angelg> wrote: > What is everybodys favorite salad dressing? Guest guest
Most, I think, have a favorite salad dressing they use for a quick bowl of lettuce. I have tried many commercial dressings...and have made many different kinds...and can't seem to find one I can say is my favorite and that I want to make over and over...or use all the time. I think I am looking for a fresh, not too oily, a little sweetness, vinegarette (or lemon juice) type... I am not looking for random recipes of salad dressings - I am wanting to know your special dressing...that could become mine. If this request sounds desperate, it is! Guest guest
I make a dressing using 1/2 cup honey mustard (one that has a pronounced honey taste) 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar 2 tbls olive oil 2 cloves crushed garlic a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper Give it a whirl in the blender and chill to blend flavors Great on a green salad or in a potato or cabbage salad Enjoy, Leslie in Atlanta - Most, I think, have a favorite salad dressing they use for a quick bowl of lettuce. Guest guest
My favorite -easy- dressing is just taking a basic Italian dressing and whisking in a few tablespoons of tahini. It is tangy, creamy, nutty and just flavorful. It is what I reach for 95% of the time. You could try adding honey if you want more of a sweet dressing. There are a lot of tried and true salad dressings in the files you might want to try, too. In the 'Condiments, Dressings and Sauces' folder and then the 'Dressings and Vinaigrettes' sub-folder. There are 45 in there right now. ~ PT ~ The butterfly counts not years but moments, and has time enough. ~ Rabindranath Tagore ````````````````````````````````` , echolike <echolike wrote: > > Most, I think, have a favorite salad dressing they use for a quick bowl of lettuce. Guest guest
" basic Italian dressing " ...Do you mean bottled, packet, or ? If it is bottled, is there a brand you prefer? ________________________________ ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll Monday, February 23, 2009 11:12:28 AM Re: Favorite salad dressing My favorite -easy- dressing is just taking a basic Italian dressing and whisking in a few tablespoons of tahini. Guest guest
This salad dressing is made to go on a spinach salad but I love it on all greens: 1 cup salad oil 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1 medium onion, chopped small 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon worchestershire sauce 2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup catsup Mix all together. I mix in a jar with a lid such as a mason jar. This dressing keeps forever. ************** A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
I like a simple Lemon-Olive Oil dressing for the spinach salads, greek salads, and brown rice-lentil salads I make. In a small mason jar, I add: 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup olive oil 1 clove garlic, minced salt and pepper to taste Shake until blended. I also like to make a Balsamic Vinaigrette 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar 1/4 tsp. dry mustard (or you can use prepared...not the yellow kind..use dijon or brown) 1/2 cup olive oil salt and pepper to taste Sometimes I will add a pinch of Italian herbs mix.
