Guest guest
Hi, I just had my 40th anniversary of being a vegetarian. I live in Mississippi and like to invent vegan and veggie recipes - currently playing with a nice soy milk maker. My only son, also vegan, died at 15 in November. Guest guest
Salette Latas Oro Valley, Arizona I'm a lazy cook, but when I take the time to make something from scratch, I have people in my life who appreciate it. I love asparagus. I've been vegetarian for 20 years and vegan for the past 7. My only son, an omnivore who loved to cook, died in July 2007 at age 22. My heart goes out to you, Dick. - D. F. Guest guest
Hello, happy March to everyone! 1. Hi I'm Linda Solomon 2. Currently live in Farmington Hills, MI, but hope to be able to move from here in the not too distant future, to hopefully be more comfortable in the summertime, because with MS; s.e. MI is too hot and uncomfortable. 3. I consider myself a great cook, and it's one of my favorite activities to do, however not as vegetarian as I'd like to be. Whenever I'll be able to live independently again, will be better at that; for it will be easier to do. 4. I love asperagus, wonderful vegetable. Lately been using rosemary and olive oil and baking them in the oven. Yes, if asperagus was growing in abundance along with avocados........would be a happy camper. Take care, Linda ---- 03/02/09 06:45:17 ~ March 2009 Roll Call ~ For fun and to open up introductions for new members to see who our long-time members are, we like to have a group roll call every other month. Guest guest
Hi,my name is Danielle. I live in Massachusetts. I've been a vegetarian for over two years now. Ummm, I can cook well if I'm following a recipe, if that counts. If I had to pick some favorite vegetables (I pretty much like them all) I would pick asparagus and spinach. Guest guest
I am a lurker and not a total vegetarian myself, but my son still lives at home and he is.... My name is Kristi and I live in northeast Ohio between Akron and Medina. I think I am a good cook - been doing it since about 1965. I love all vegetables, but just now I am especially taken with root vegetables - parsnips may be my favorite now. I belong to a CSA and we live near many great farmer's markets. I have a small garden, too.
Guest guest
Hi, new and enjoying the group:) I am Chris, living in Illinois near Chicago, looking so forward to Spring!! No snow but very cold here:) Okay, favorite veggie if stuck on a deserted island.....hands down it would be asparagus. Love it steamed, baked, fried:) second would be the ever beloved eggplant--a vegetarian's staple alongside all the beans one could want. I can follow a recipe, wish I had the art of cooking down well enough to do more implementing. Have tried and loved many of Dean Ornish's recipes as my significant has a heart condition--lately I have been adding back oils to my diet as my skin was getting soooo dry and hair brittle....Ornish is great for my bf, he has none of these side effects from the lack of oil and fats...I have found without health reasons, cutting back that much on fats does some damage to my skin, nails, hair, and maybe other internal structures.... Take care! Happy March! I really like asparagus (prepared simply). I couldn't live without potatoes, lettuce, spinach, artichokes, broccoli, and zucchini. > >

Guest guest
Dick and Salette, I'm saddened to hear of the loss you are each enduring. I hope you are both able to find solace in your faith, in the kindness of friends and strangers and in the many wonderful memories of your departed loved ones. My Name: Chelli (pronounced with a " Sh " ) Living in: Maryland Good Cook: I've not gotten many complaints -- of course I primarily cook for myself so that may have something to do with it Favorite Veg: I've been a vegetarian for a little over 2 years and I have to say that my favorite is a tie between sweet potatoes (I love them instead of white potato wedges!) and broccoli! I am still finding new food selections to experiment with and have no desire to go back to meat! , " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll wrote: > > For fun and to open up introductions for new > members to see who our long-time members > are, we like to have a group roll call every other > month. > Please join in when you can and only share if > you are so inclined... no pressure.
