Guest guest
Just a thought, but I know it's possible for folks to purposely spam groups either as an individual looking for a " thrill " or from automatic technological means. Either way, all the hubbub over this has fed right into the tension, if that indeed was the hoped-for outcome. And, let's face it, it could have just been a simple mistake. We've all posted and realized it all too late. Seeing folks' " true colors " is really the best (or worst) advertisement for a particular (eating) lifestyle. IOW, if eating raw makes you all so grouchy and snappy, then why oh why would I want to follow that? Just an observation...now back to raw and to keep this post on topic, here's my newest " creation " : Hot and Spicy Daikon Radish Threads 1 large daikon radish put through a turning slicer* or " sliced " using multiple passes w/your veggie peeler making ribbons 1 jicama sliced/ribboned also as above 1 part chili sauce (like is served at sushi restaurants) 2 parts soy or tamari sauce (or raw equivalent) Black sesame seeds *turning slicer such as Benringer, Saladacco, Katsuramuki, or Katsura muki which makes flat ribbons or angel hair pasta type bean threads or potato strings. Run daikon and jicama through threader. In separate bowl, mix the chili sauce and tamari/soy. Use more tamari/soy for a less intense heat. Pour sauce over threads and toss gently. Serve sprinkled with black sesame seeds. I also added some chopped onion & cucumber mixed with snipped cilantro & a squeeze of lime to tame the heat a bit. It was quite a hit at this last weekend's little gathering at my house. Turning a lemon into lemonade, we can think of how to make that recipe into something that we *could* eat. I get inspired all the time by " food cravings " , either mine or those of my clients. I have never thrown out my old cookbooks, so I can go back through them and find favorite foods I've forgotten and come up with ways to make something like them now. If that is not your style, then, please, do take a tour through the list files for recipes of all sorts. Margaret
