Guest guest
Is there such thing as a blender that is portable? I would like to put a bunch of frozen fruit and greens in a blender and then be able to blend it later when I want it and drink it. Thanks for any help. Guest guest
I found one at Wal-Mart (I know, I hate shopping there, but we are poor right now and I can't afford to stand on all my principles). It's small, single-serving, but you still have to plug it in. If you are going to be taking it to the office or somewhere that you can use power than it would seem to work out well. I haven't seen any that use batteries. Becky rawfood , " Beth Mouser " <mouser4 wrote: > > Is there such thing as a blender that is portable? Guest guest
What about one of those stick blenders you can use for soups or suck? I have one with a cord, but I have also seen them battery operated. You would just need to have the fruits and greens cut up in a glass then. Guest guest
Portable blenders. Well there is a hand crank full size blender that is marketed toward campers wanting to make thier favorite frozen/blended alcoholic drinks at the campground. I think it's around $60. Sharper Image sells a tall narrow electric one that comes with 2 glass style containers. Back to Basics has the personal blender with a real mug style container, this is also electric. It's around $20 (I use this at home, ordered an extra set of mugs for when I'm making my famous raw tomato sauce for zucchini pasta for those 80/10/10 shared meals(who uses a pot anymore? thinking pot luck). The stick blenders work with bananas & stuff pretty good, greens or celery would have to be cut up first - but hey that's what I use kitchen sissors for anyway. Battery operated blenders - well, it's limited but they are out there at places like the Vitamin Shop & GNC, they don't have much power and I'm thinking that blending a banana might be a challenge. They are really designed for those powdered mixes & water (yuk) Oh and don't forget the good ole Magic Bullet - when I visit my daughter, that's what she has, that's what I use - it works great & even at Thanksgiving when I used nuts to make a special dish to share with the SAD diet people it did a geat job on those as well. I think the drink mugs are small for me - so I just made to glasses of smoothie! Hope that's helpful! Guest guest
An alternative to the Magic Bullet is the Tribest Personal Blender. It requires electricity, but is small and great for making salad dressings for one person.
