Guest guest
Hey, I'm wondering if most of you raw foodists make recipes a lot, or do you just eat raw fruits, veggies and nuts. I get paranoid that I'm not doing it right. I'm researching/reading, but I'm not at a level of self-education where I'm confidant. I'm worried - especially because I suffer from depression and anxiety - that I'm not getting enough nutrients and minerals on a raw diet. Like, tryptophan, which is mostly only found in animal meat, helps the mind function. I guess because I feel I have health limitations (mental) I worry about the raw diet. But, then again, maybe I have these limitations because I eat too much dairy/wheat and I've been 60/50 vegetarian/meat eater my whole life. So maybe I need to detox to find my truest self. Just looking for some words of wisdom. I'm starting to realize I worry a lot. I guess when it comes to my health, and especially nutition, I want to take the best of care. Guest guest
Hi Julian, There are a couple discussion groups run by very well-educated, long- term raw-fooders you might want to check into. The archives contain a wealth of information, and you will get very good explanations to your questions and concerns if you post. http://health.PathOfHealth/ http://health.Rawschool/ (also check out Nora's main site at www.rawschool.com) This is also a good source for writings on health and disease and raw food (Natural Hygiene): http://www.rawfoodexplained.com/ Dr. Doug Graham's new book ( " The 80/10/10 Diet " ) is also the best, most comprehensive writing I know of on the topic. It's avail. at his web site: www.foodnsport.com. Some of those resources might help build your confidence in what you're doing. You can get personal support at the discussion groups, and there are many very inspiring testimonials in Dr. Graham's book (he also does consultations). I go back and forth between raw and cooked and I really feel a lot of emotional ups and downs. I start to get much more clear and happy when I eat simple raw and I am, of course, working on doing more and more of that! I also worry about doing a lot of things right, but once I learned about living in accordance with nature, I let go of a LOT of health worries. I personally have never been very attracted to the complicated recipes, lots of nuts, etc. But that does seem to help some people transition. I eat a lot of sweet fruits. Hope that helps, Laurie rawfood , " Julian " <julian_eve1 wrote: > > Hey, > I'm wondering if most of you raw foodists make recipes a lot, or do you just eat raw fruits, > veggies and nuts. Guest guest
Hello Julian, Don't worry. You will be getting much more nutrition on a raw diet than you do on a cooked food diet. You don't have to worry about getting enough protein. I healed from depression and anxiety after adopting a raw vegan diet. I firmly believe that most " mental " and " emotional " problems are caused by a toxic condition in the body. Go for it! You won't regret it!!! I feel better than I ever have and I eat 98% fruit and never worry about getting any particular nutrients. Wishing you all the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com > " Julian " <julian_eve1 >rawfood >rawfood >[Raw Food] feeling unsure of myself >Sun, 15 Apr 2007 22:35:04 -0000 > >Hey, >I'm wondering if most of you raw foodists make recipes a lot, or do you >just eat raw fruits, >veggies and nuts.
