Guest guest
Hi, I was hoping someone might have some insights or advice. I've been 99% raw for 7 weeks now. I'm feeling great, my weight is dropping like a stone, but suddenly two days ago I started feeling light-headed, really tense, and my blood-pressure was back up to where it was when I started. Could this be a detox reaction? I read in David Wolfe that the bp can rise due to " soupy stuff " entering the blood and making it thicker. Could it be a menstrual thing? Could it just be a blip on the way to being healthy? Or is this a bad thing and should I see a doctor? I've just added running to my exercise regimen, could that have something to do with it? Anyway, I hope someone can help. Thanks! Pamela
Guest guest
Hello Pamela, I had blood pressure issues (light headedness and dizzyness) after a little while on raw, and was advised to drastically reduce my fat intake. It solved the problem within a few days. I don't know how you are eating or if the same thing could be causing your problem, but fat in the blood does slow it down which can lead to light headedness and dizzyness. It's a simple solution if it is the problem. Just avoid all oils, nuts, seeds, avocados, coconuts and durians for a few days and see if it helps. Wishing you all the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com >Pamela Pieters <pamela >rawfood >rawfood >[Raw Food] Blood pressure >Tue, 17 Apr 2007 10:52:21 +0200 > >Hi, I was hoping someone might have some insights or advice. > >I've been 99% raw for 7 weeks now. Guest guest
Thanks Audrey, that's interesting. I don't think I'm eating all that much fat - maybe an avocado and 20 olives a day, three times a week 2oz of nuts. Is that a lot? I don't think I could manage without any fat at all - I use fats as a sort of seasoning, a way to make all the greens palatable. I'll see what I can do Pamela Audrey Walker wrote: > Hello Pamela, > > > I had blood pressure issues (light headedness and dizzyness) after a little > while on raw, and was advised to drastically reduce my fat intake. Guest guest
Hi Michelle, Nothing special. The one I'm drinking right now is simply flat-leafed parsley and spinach blended together. It's remarkably drinkable! I usually add some fruit too, like an orange, a banana or a pear, but I felt in need of some serious greens tonight without the sugar, so just did it like this. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Here's my green juice recipe! Enjoy! Green Lemonade: 1 head romaine lettuce or celery or any other green you desire 5-6 stalks of kale (any kind) 1 lemon (you can leave the peel on) 1-2 apples for sweetness (fuji works best!) fresh ginger to taste The more I drink it, the more I want it!
