Guest guest
Candida, Hormonal Imbalaces, PCOS... are all these things connected? I believe I have Candida and did an anti-candida diet for 3-4 months which was mostly meat and cooked vegetables. Now I'm trying to transition to a raw diet (1 month). Problems/symptoms since changing diet: haven't gotten period in 4 months Problems since trying to be raw: (atleast since I've noticed) smaller breast, fattier mid-section, irritability, intense anger, feeling more masculine and less sensitive. (I used to be very emotional). This is really complicated. I'm just wondering if all these problems will balance out with the raw foods diet and if most of these health issues are actually all caused by the same thing because they all seem so similar. Is there any way that cutting out the fat or adding more fruit can be making me feel more masculine? Please help. Love, Sabrina
Guest guest
Hi Sabrina, I really don't think so. The diet you describe (high fruit, low fat) will work towards balancing your hormones. Maybe you are going through a temporary adjustment stage. The body has it' s own agenda. You may need to be patient. Trust your bodies ability to heal and trust nature. I used to have horrible hormonal problems and they completely resolved on a high fruit, low fat diet. Just be sure that you are eating a truly low fat diet. You can use fitday or nutridairy to make sure. It is best to keep the fat percentage below 10%. Guest guest
Interesting. How do you mostly fruit eaters find your teeth holding up under the onslaught of fruit acid? rawfood , " Audrey Walker " <chilove88 wrote: > > Hi Sabrina, > > I really don't think so. Guest guest
Yes, in advanced stages, candida EATS hormones. Read the book SICK AND TIRED: RECLAIM YOUR INNER TERRAIN by Robert Young. :-) Erica Albanese School Of RAWk Certified Raw Nutritionist, Health Coach & Raw Chef Freelance Writer & Advanced Practitioner of The Living Foods Lifestyle Eugene, OR (541) 915 - 1995 SchoolOfRAWk www.SchoolOfRAWk.com - Copming Soon! Guest guest
I find my teeth cleaner and whiter than ever! The high water content of fruit and veggies helps to clean the teeth I think, and the fiber and roughage definitely helps scour them and the gums as well. My sister (a dentist) agrees with this assessment (well, she gave me this assessment! ). Fruit acid and sugar is a very fine thing....I think you'd have to hold fruit juice in your mouth for a while until it started fermenting before it became bad for you or your teeth. I was once asked how much sugar I ate in a day by an office-mate, because he was wanting to compare how much he ate compared to me, and I eat a lot of fruit. But I laughed, saying that I don't eat any sugar whatsoever and that there is no RDA for sugar. But see I wasn't comparing my fruit sugar to his slurpy sugar, and I never would! Fruit sugar is fructose (I think) and comes balanced with so many nutrients and enzymes, in a way the body expects, and is utilized by the body for health and energy. Slurpy sugar is essentially a foreign substance in the body, almost like a drug or poison, giving a high and then a crash. I tried to explain the difference between the sugar in my fruit and the sugar in his slurpy, but it was too much for him to handle, much to my annoyance. Always wanted to share this story with others who would understand! haha Joe rawfood , " Velvet " <la_velvet wrote: > > > > Interesting. > > How do you mostly fruit eaters find your teeth holding up under the > onslaught of fruit acid? Guest guest
Hi velvet, I'd love to hear about your diet. I think the reason people tend to eat mostly fruit is to make sure they are getting enough calories in. Please tell us what a typical day looks like for you (food wise). Who knows, it might help someone out there! As much detail as poss would be appreciated. _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Velvet 17 April 2007 20:47 rawfood Re: [Raw Food] cutting fat, addding fruit... more masculine? Interesting. Guest guest
I should add, I prefer a limited number of fresh raw foods berries...but not strawberries. clementines grapefruit passion fruit water melon pomegranate. cabbage caulifl. lettuce peppers celery cucumber podded peas. mustard and cress. radishes. very occasionally sprouts...which I consider unutterably BORING. These are about the full measure of my interest. I am not content that supermarkets, which is where I mostly access the above, keep this produce anything near correctly ripe enough to eat immediately, and I eat on a whim day to day. I am unhappy at having to eat 'retarded' fresh foods. I look on food as fuel, and berries as nectar. -- In rawfood , " Michelle Smith " <michellesmith0 wrote: > > Hi velvet, > > > > I'd love to hear about your diet. Guest guest
Dr.Douglas Grahm has been living this lifestyle for over 20 years and teaches that fruit is where we should get the majority of our calories. Fats from nuts, seeds, and avocados should comprise no more than 10% of our caloric intake. Anyone who wants to chek out his site foodnsport.com where his book 80/10/10 is also offered. I do not believe there is a thing as too much fruit but perhaps improper combining or eating to much fat with the fruit. School Of Rawk <schoolofrawk wrote: Don't forget GREENS, too.
