I have just started to eat mostly raw. I have MS and have been constipated

forever. Thought this would resolve that problem, but not yet. I have only

been " cleaning things up " for about a couple weeks, so Maybe I'm expecting

too much too soon.

Ideas? Has anyone else continued to have constipation after going mostly

raw? I feel like I may have more issues than I thought.

Thanks for any advice. I just feel like if I could get things going, I would

stop feeling drunk, toxic, etc.

It took me a few weeks to be regular. Try to be patient because it is worth the

wait. I feel soooo much better now that I can just go to the bathroom normally

each and every day.

Watch the spinach it is binding as well increase your water intake, have

grapefruit in the morning, apricot is good to for getting things moving.

There are a few detox teas out there that help too there is bija tea made

with organic herbs for a deep cleanse or lalma makes a yummy detox tea. The

Bija tea doesnt taste very good I would try the detox tea first. You can

find them at most health stores. watch bananas too binding as well. I

suffer from IBS (irritable bowel sindrome) haven't had a problem since

starting my raw diet 7 weeks ago. I am following the dr. Fuhrman Eat to live

program.

hope this helps

Sally,

(disclaimer)I am not a DR, have next to no medical training of any kind and am

only offering comment from my own life experiences

I have been @70% for almost a month now. I never had a problem with constipation

before but rather was living at the other end of the spectrum. One of the things

that prompted me to go highraw was the onset of borderline high blood pressure.

The medicine they put me on to manage both my HBP and my migraines has stopped

me up quite considerably. I find that I have needed to add quite a bit of flax

to my diet to get things moving at all. Is it possible on of your meds if you

are on any could be stopping you up and have you tried adding flax? I add it to

many things and eat flax crackers with both ground and whole flax. You also need

to be drinking quite a bit of water to help soften things up.

Go to www.herbdoc.com and get Intestinal Formula 1. You will love it. Especially

if you recently went raw, you want to keep your bowels moving. It is wonderful

and works on EVERYONE. All of his cleanses are gold, too.

Also, PLEASE go to www.msreversed.com - you CAN get rid of it! :-)

Eat To Live is about 50% raw. Sarah, do you not eat the beans

on his plan? I was on it for about a year before transitioning

to high raw in the last month or so. The beans are a rare

occasion for me these days, and I miss them.

I don't eat the beans very much I find they taste like dirt. I usually try

to choke them back. I don't like the taste of cooked veggies so I eat

everything raw except for corn and the odd potatoe. I am going on 8 weeks

vegan and I love it. After reading eat to live I decided that was it. Most

of my family is now vegan or vegitarian. My husband has been following the

eat to live program strictly for the past 8 weeks and as well he has been

going to school and his grades have never been better he still doesnt want

to believe it is his diet that is helping him do better.
