Guest guest
Yes, it does happen. I had quite the time with it myself. The advice I received is Eat More. Meat is very heavy and difficult to digest, so it stays in the gut for as much as a week (as you-know-what). A vegetarian diet passes through the digestive system much faster. Also, the fats received in meats tend to again stay a long time and make us feel full. So, eat as much fruits and veggies as you can. Add good oils to help you feel full. This was a little weird to me, adding oil to my diet, but I need it. Also, do enjoy brown rice and whole grains while you're going through this time, or you may end up going into ketosis. You'll lose weight like crazy, and feel really lousy if you go into ketosis, and it could be dangerous for your kidneys. You can tone down the grains once you're settled. Good luck, Darlene. I have noticed something unusual (I think) since becoming vegetarian. I AM CONSTANTLY HUNGRY, even though the amount I eat hasn't been changed. Is this normal? Does it pass? I do eat beans, dairy, and eggs, so it's not a lack of protein. Have any of you experienced this hunger? I don't want to increase what I eat because I am trying to lose weight, not gain it. Guest guest
I would like to thank all who answered my question. It was ALOT of help. Someone said to add more good fats to my diet (Donni and one other). When I read it the first time, I went into my kitchen and drank a tablespoon of virgin olive oil AND IT HELPED! (much to my surprise). It didnt remove the hunger, but it took the edge off and it was only one tablespoon! 100 calories. Maybe I do need to add more good fats, among the other suggestions. I will try them all. Thank you. Guest guest
Is this normal? I'm working my way up to being 100% raw. Right now I would say I'm 90%. I eat raw from the time I get up and then at dinner 1/3 of my meal still has some cooked food. I am now up to only having cooked food every other day and by the weekend should have it out of my diet all together. (I've been transitioning for almost 3 weeks) But, what I am noticing when eating all raw or mostly raw, is by the end of the day I have a hard, round belly. It's not huge, but I wake in the morning with a flat tummy and as the day progresses it gets bigger and harder. Is this just my body adjusting? Does this go away eventually. I'm losing weight all over, what wrinkles I did have are fading and my cellulite is vanishing but I am concerned about the stomach issue. xo carolina

Guest guest
actually this is very similar to what is happening to me. I am gradually moving up to 100% raw. Would say I almost there and noticed the closer I get to being all raw the more this is happening. rawfood , " Laurie Swanson " <laurie wrote: > > Hi Carolina, > > I can't say if this is your situation exactly, but you might want to > check out this really great blog where there's an entry titled " Fruit > Belly! Guest guest
I would take a few days of REALLY GOOD FOOD COMBINING. See if it continues. A lot of raw dishes, while 99% healthier than anything on the street, are still poor food combining which can still cause digestive issues. Experiment! :-)
