Guest guest
Hi Tanya, I'm zeroing in one one phrase in your message: sweating profusely but being very cold. I realize this may seem paradoxical and therefore confusing. True, biologically normal human body temperature is somewhere between 94-96 degrees F. The mainstream believes that " normal " human body temperature is about 98.5 degrees F (98.6 in the US, 98.4 in the UK, and so on). Extensive research EVEN IN THE MEDICAL MAINSTREAM refutes this 98+ notion and suggests that normal human body temperature is around 97 degrees F or lower. I'll go with the 94-96 range, because experience clearly affirms that this is correct for our species when we eat and live healthfully. So from my perspective, virtually 100% of the population is running a serious fever, 24x7. So here you are, stopping your intake of salt (I think ??), consuming more and more healthful water than ever, rehydrating and reoxygenating every part of your system ... and you system is still managing your body temperature based upon how it has adapted for many years to conditions you used to create. There will be a period of time during which your system literally relearns to manage its own temperature, recalibrates all its own settings, etc. And along the way, you'll likely experience temperature-related symptoms of one sort or another. Your system is drawing as much resources, and therefore as much of your circulatory capacity, as possible into your " center " ... your brain/CNS and central organs. Concurrently, your body is temporarily " shorting " circulation to your extremities. They get enough to function, but not enough for optimal warmth. This is normal ... though uncomfortable ... for now. There is simply not enough energy to go around, and your system has taken a cue from your dietary changes and is working full speed ahead ... on you!! So this is all good news!!! Just thought you might like to know. I appreciate the input greatly. There are people who have entered in the raw food lifestyle not only eating a SAD diet, but also have taken a variety of meds that have been stored in our bodies. When we go raw and cleanse, we don't know what is releasing into our systems at any given time. It can be old meds. It can be an illness that we stopped in it's tracks without letting it run its course. Think of all the medications a person has taken in their lifetime and what combonations could be releasing. It may be easy for one person, but it has not been easy for me. I think my slump and my anxiety is more cleansing. Cleansing for me is pain and the lovely sweating profusely but being very cold. Now a new person reading this, don't get SCARED. This is my body having this reaction. Many people have an easy time or notice a few symptoms. A lot of people choose this lifestyle and have a great time with it. The cleansing gets easier as it goes along, for me. Now when I go through little bouts, it's uncomfortable, but ok. Thanks again Tanya _,_._,___
Guest guest
I haven't been on in a few days and just read this. That makes sense. The discomfort will go away and then I'll have a couple days of this temperature " thing. " Drives me nuts, BUT I know what you are saying. My temp usually runs about 97. I can't wait for warmer weather here in Seattle! By the way, still eating mostly watermelon. I've added in apples and spinach for the past couple of days. The watermelon, even though seedless, tastes really good. I love anything red or orange. Huh. I eat from the RED and ORANGE food groups? Thank you! Guest guest
Well, Tanya, perhaps as you continue eating this way (and add to it over time), you'll become so healthy that others will become GREEN with envy! :) Best, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of The Grrl Sunday, May 13, 2007 1:26 PM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Restoring thermal management (WAS: A couple of questions...I'm new to raw foods!) Guest guest
Hi Tanya, I sent you a private message wondering where you're finding good watermelons in Seattle. Did you get it? I would appreciate you letting me know. I responded via the web site, but it should've gone directly to your address. Sometimes it seems like doing it that way doesn't work, so I'm trying to figure it out. Thanks, Laurie rawfood , The Grrl <dudeinski wrote: > > I haven't been on in a few days and just read this.
