Guest guest
This may just be me... But I have been wondering... Why do we weight more at night, then in the morning we weigh less. I know this is odd...but if I weigh myself at night, then again in the morning....why is there always a 3-4 pound change???? Where does the weight go in the middle of the night? I just weighed myself, and I weigh 5 pounds more than I did this morning (no I am not obsessing...I very rarely weight myself--just doing a little research) and I know when I weigh myself in the morning it will be lower again. Am I missing something here? I know I didnt eliminate the excess...so where did it go? LOL...I know...weird question...but Im just curious! Expecting? Get great news right away with email Auto-Check. Guest guest
wow..what a cool question. i for one, have never even thought of that... i assumed i sweated it off, or burned off the calories by fasting for 8-10hrs.. then passed it in the morning..but youre right..thats quite a few pounds... if it were water it would take a lot more than just morning urine... and as for sweat...after i had a baby, i literally sweat pounds off,,but that leaves sheets soaked...this doesnt happen now...and i cant be giving off that much heat sleeping......what gives? now youve got mmee wondering.... anna 8-/ On 5/14/07, Dobby the house elf <dobeythehouseelf wrote: > > This may just be me... > > But I have been wondering... > > Why do we weight more at night, then in the morning we weigh less. > > I know this is odd...but if I weigh myself at night, then again in the > morning....why is there always a 3-4 pound change???? Guest guest
Hi It's not just you! I love this forum - it's the kind where people ask questions that you always wanted to know the answer to! My weight has usually been 1-2 lbs less in the morning, and that's before going to the loo! Having given this a bit of thought...we're actually having a long period without food, perhaps nothing for 12 hours? And, while we're asleep, we're still burning calories (just normal body function, tossing and turning, perhaps sweating, 'other activities'...) How about that for a hypothesis? I look forward to the contributions of those more qualified. Guest guest
I have wondered the same thing, and also, I have on occasion weighed myself, then had my " morning constitutional " (which is quite a bit with all the raw and fiber) then weighed myself again and discovered that not only did I not lose a pound or two but have sometimes actually gone up a pound after major elimination... How does that work?!? Dobby the house elf <dobeythehouseelf raw food <rawfood > Monday, May 14, 2007 11:15:33 PM [Raw Food] weight question....off the wall really... This may just be me... Guest guest
I would theorize that our increase weight at night has to do with the gravitational forces with the set setting of the sun and position of the moon, your body has huge amounts of water and so like the ocean is impacted. then weighed myself again and discovered that not only did I not lose a pound or two but have sometimes actually gone up a pound after major elimination My guess this has something to do with were your body mass is balanced on the scale. I think the answer is to utalize a more reliable measurement than the scales, such as a tape measure, the fit of your clothes, or the % of body fat. Since what we are after is how healthy we are, or how good we look, there for clothing fit and % of body fat identify where we are in a more useful measurement than weight, which can be impacted by the time of day,the amount of water we retain, and the body waste storage system cycle In light and love RuneStar, who plays with fire Embrace the Mystical and Wait for Extraordinary Things to Happen. nini2033a rawfood Tue, 15 May 2007 7:20 AM Re: [Raw Food] weight question....off the wall really... Guest guest
fascinating idea...your body water as tides...im familiar with that idea in different ways, but not for an explanation for body weight...wow..thanks for the thought! peace anna On 5/15/07, runestar <runestar wrote: > > I would theorize that our increase weight at night has to do with the > gravitational forces with the set setting of the sun and position of the > moon, your body has huge amounts of water and so like the ocean is impacted. > then weighed myself again and discovered that not only did I not lose a > pound or two but have sometimes actually gone up a pound after major > elimination My guess this has something to do with were your body mass is > balanced on the scale. > > I think the answer is to utalize a more reliable measurement than the > scales, such as a tape measure, the fit of your clothes, or the % of body > fat.
