Guest guest
Yes, in addition to chlorine, alcohol and antibiotics kill living cells and will destroy simple organisms, potentially resulting in a negative test. Alkaloids (caffeine, nicotine, etc.) may have a similar effect, not sure. Ergo ... the test itself is useless. We ALWAYS have countless organisms living within us, candida among them. I was positive. He was negative (meat-eater, smoker, lots of alcohol (spirits), lots of coffee, Red Bull, eats lots of chocolate, crisps(chips), has taken antibiotics, etc etc). Annoying. Guest guest
Hi Elchanan Apologies if I'm misunderstanding, but I'm thinking then that it might be the case that my husband's diet is 'killing' everything! (this would be no surprise....). Also, I've been feeling doubtful myself about this spit test, and am interested that you do not rate the test. Yes, it detects candida. But, as you say, we've got all some inside us, so (provided we use good water) the test will detect whatever candida there is there. As to whether it can tell the difference between an 'OK amount' and 'too much'...? (I've been trawling the internet on this and can't find any scientific explanation for the test - just a lot of comments, about 75% saying it's accurate, but with no rationale for so saying. If anyone remembers, I'd got all in a lather about the positive test and immediately instituted an anti-candida diet. I hadn't actually recognised more than one or two things on the 'symptoms' list (I feel pretty healthy), but I had been experiencing a lot of gas and bloating associated with fruit, and had concluded that this was because the fruit was fermenting the yeast. Anyhow, for a couple of days I had no fruit. I then decided that actually there was no way I was going to cut fruit out of my diet - not even for a few weeks. What I have done since then is eat fruit for breakfast, and at no other time in the day. My tummy has been FINE. 'Lost' is no longer interrupted by the bassoon in my nether regions. It's all been interesting, and the net effect is, whether I have a terrible candida overgrowth, or all this is just....nothing at all, I've weaned myself off cooked bread and Marmite (which will stun anyone that's known me the last 20 years!). Many thanks to everyone who has shared information on this. Love Debbie Took, Reading, Berkshire (now 90% raw fooder - thanks to...the candida spit test!) rawfood , " Elchanan " <Elchanan wrote: > > Yes, in addition to chlorine, alcohol and antibiotics kill living cells and > will destroy simple organisms, potentially resulting in a negative test. > Alkaloids (caffeine, nicotine, etc.) may have a similar effect, not sure. > > Ergo ... the test itself is useless.
