Guest guest
Hi Carly Here's how to make Essene bread, the bread that, according to the Essene Gospel of Peace, Jesus/Yahshua recommended we eat. In the morning, soak wheatberries (I soak them overnight). Next morning, leave them to sprout for 24 hours in a sunny place. They don't have to sprout much (and of course this will vary with weather). Just sprouting 'at all' is enough. BTW, I've found the very easiest way of sprouting is to use a 'sprouting jar' - basically a large wide-mouthed jar with mesh as a lid (you could also secure some netting with a rubber band). Next morning, grind (I use a mini-food processor, process once, stir round, then process again. Or use a coffee mill, around £16 in UK. No need to buy expensive seed mills unless you're going into it big- scale. Grinding does create heat, but I did try grinding by hand (pestle and mortar) and it took a very long time... Make into a ball then press out flat (very flat) and thin, on baking parchment or teflex sheet. Use heel of hand, as a rolling pin will stick. Dehydrate, perhaps turning halfway. Should be ready by the evening, or sooner. If you're looking for something that non-raw people will like, this probably isn't the ticket. Flax crackers are, but I see that they're a no-no for you. I used to love wholemeal bread, and have replaced that with this. I wasn't sure about it on first time of eating, but it gets better and better. It has a sort of sweet taste. And I love the fact that I'm eating wheat and nothing but, because, although not everyone agrees, I believe wheat is a good food for us (so I hope you don't have a wheat intolerance). By the way, I really empathise with your frustrations over recipes. I'm lucky in that I've had a lot of time on my hands in first three months of raw, but have made many things that have tasted..yuk, followed recipes that haven't worked...it's enormously frustrating after the time spent. It's only by trying a few hundred things that I now have a small 'tried and tested' list, and now it's just getting better and better! Guest guest
Postscript! Just thought of something (as I really want this to work for Carly and anyone else who might try it for the first time). When I say 'grind', I don't mean to fine powder. My dough has a nutty texture - you can still see the bits of wheat. Perhaps I should have said grind/mash..I say this because if you use a coffee mill, the mixture might be too fine. Anyhow, I expect others have some variations on this! Love and best wishes for the bread Debbie Took, Reading, UK rawfood , " deborah164951 " <thisgeneration wrote: > > Hi Carly > > Here's how to make Essene bread, the bread that, according to the > Essene Gospel of Peace, Jesus/Yahshua recommended we eat. > > In the morning, soak wheatberries (I soak them overnight). > > Next morning, leave them to sprout for 24 hours in a sunny place. > They don't have to sprout much (and of course this will vary with > weather).
