I buy the kombucha drink from the health store, the raw kind, would you

mind sharing how you make it? I seen that the started could be bought

but wondering if its very time consuming and also i heard about needing

to boil the botttles to prevent the bad bacteria. Thanks

I was going to give this a try about 10-years ago but the

fermentation got too close for me in a " alcohol " type of way. I

have not had the need to put any mind or mood altering substances in

my system for quite some time and the thought of possibly ingesting

an alcohol based drink stopped me.

Just my personal opinion on this, it's been over 18-years without

having any alcohol and I treasure that, along with the fact that the

claimed benefits could be achieved with alot of other substances.

I love kombucha! I drink some every other day, at least. I believe it

has helpful to me, but I can't say exactly how, because I began

drinking it at the same time I went raw.

I love it. I have always liked fermented foods, except alcohol,

funnily enough, so it took me awhile to get used to the taste. Some

here don't do fermented foods (to each his own) but you really have

to decide for yourself...

I'm sure it must have been explained somewhere, but what is kombucha?

Miso is fermented and I love miso.

I have been drinking kombucha for almost three years on a regular basis

and it has become a regular part of my diet. It is not something to

gulp down like water but more like taken like medicine. It is actually

medicine and if treated like medicine it is very healthy for you.

Formented foods like kombucha, miso, sauerkraut, kimchee ect are very

important for a healthy diet. I do purchase store bought kombucha while

traveling, however, the home made kind is very inexpensive to make and

I like it better because I am free to experiment with the taste. The

stostore bought one (GT Daves or Synergy)are very expensive ($3.30-

$3.99 per 16oz) depending on where you buy it. I got a culture from a

freind three years ago and kombucha has become a regular part of my

diet since. For more information on how to make, get a starter culture

and to learn the health benefits of kombucha go to

http://www.kombu.de/english.htm You can also understand more about

fermented foods from Ann Wigmore and Gabriel Cousens.

regards,

Carl

Fungus pee <s>.You need to have a kombucha culture -- looks like a flat

jellyfish -- to make it. You feed it tea and sugar and it produces the

liquid. Serve it in a stemmed glass and it is the nectar of the gods.
