I am wondering if your extreme nausea could be low blood sugar. Are

you remembering to eat? I know with other diets, you don't want to eat

large quantities. It is something that I have to work on. I can

sometimes go all day without eating and then blow it big time at night.

I get very nausiated when my blood sugar gets too low.

As for the headaches, that is the only symptom of detox that I get.

Everyone is different though.

Hope that gave you some food for thought.

Hi there,

I wouldn't think it would be low blood sugar as I'd just about half an hour

before had a green smoothie that had fruit and veggies in it.

I had mostly just had green smoothies to that point all day. I do put

ground flax seeds in as well but otherwise they were entirely greens and

fruit. I may have eaten a few almonds as well but that would be about it.

The headache never got really severe which I had thought that it would - it

seems to be coming and going with the nausea but is better than before.

Thanks for your help :)

Well, first, despite all the fun stuff that has been written about

detoxing, you need to understand that you may or may not experience

detox symptoms. I am sort of feeling left out because, in the 30-odd

years since I have been doing raw, I have NEVER really noticed any

detox symptoms .....

Of course, when I decided that I needed to detox from candidiasis, I

did not really notice anything untoward, either, so... maybe I just

don't notice things (I'll cop to that.. I am recovering from shingles

right now, and I have been told by people who have had it that it is

horrid, and the worst horrid thing I really experienced was having to

take pills three times a day -- okay it hurt and itched, but... I

lived.. so maybe I have different take (let's hope so) on issues of

pain/deprivation/detox, etc.)

Can you have detox while you are still eating cooked foods? Sure...

If you are working on eliminating candidiasis, for example, you will

likely experience detox symptoms as you eliminate foods which feed the

candida.

If you are working at eliminating any sort of addiction, from caffeine

to tobaccco, to alcohol, and anywhere in between, if you eliminate

" facilitating " foods, or if you add in foods which tend to fight such

things, you might experience a detox.

What should your detox be? What is detox?

Well, one of the problems is that it seems to be a victim-driven,

gee-I have-it thing.... When I started eating raw, no one ever

mentioned detox, and so I did not get it. Nowadays, people talk about

it a lot -- that is not all bad -- it is worse if you get some

symptoms nad you do nto have the wherewithal to pin it down to what

you have been eating or not eating. Worse if you think, " Gosh, I ate

this way, and now I feel sick! "

So, then, it is good if people talk about detox, but is also good if

we look at that idea and understand that it DOES NOT have to happen,

nor will it necessarily have any specific symptoms.

The best thing to do is to be aware of the way you feel, and then,

when you feel differently, pay attention to any changes that you have

made in your lifestyle or your diet, and analyze thusly. (an example

would be when I went to Hong Kong in the 80s. After my first week in

Hong Kong, I noticed that I felt healthier than ever before. I

immediately began to analyze what was different - yeah, duh! the

locale, but what? I quickly realized that I had not ingested any milk

products... this was the time when I realized that I had been allergic

to milk all my life! and I eliiminated milk and milk from my diet

permanently.) Okay, that example is of eliminating one item from a SAD

diet, but it gives an example of how you can examine what you are

doing and see what it is that is causing whatever " symptoms " you might

bee feeling.

You might have changed this or that in your diet.

You might be combining foods improperly.

You might have eliminated one thing.

Be aware of what you eat. Analyze it.

Read the list files on DETOX.

www.rawfoods.com

www.rawchef.com

www.rawgourmet.com she will send you information for 7 " lessons " via internet

for free

These will give you recipes and resources for ordering. Not sure what you were

asking because detox is in the subject line, but your request says " Can someone

point me in the

direction of a website or something to get started?? "

I'm assuming you want to get started on raw food. The detox is a by product of

eating raw food.

Margaret -- I LOVE this! It is a perfect example of creating your own reality

and the LOA at

work! There are other examples here I could cite, too. Quantum physics works,

you get what

you expect to get ;>)

Hi, are you looking for basic raw food info? I have had a great time

researching on the 'net by google-ing " raw and living foods " . There is too much

to

read out there, and it is all inspirational. So start reading and stop

cooking! Good luck on your journey!

I answered this question and asked more questions and no one answered ME. Don't

know if the person is no longer on the list or decided they could do it on their

own.

I wonder sometimes why so many raw foodists seem to believe that they

need to have a negative detox experience when choosing a healthy

lifestyle and raw diet.

I would like to share my experience though. I was led to choose a

raw diet as part of my 'being healthy' life goal. My life's

experiences and choices led me to this, after a while of being raw I

found a book and learned that there was a raw food movement in the

world and other people were choosing this way of living and eating

healthy. That being said I had not heard about detoxing and negative

stuff - I just assumed that the more naturally I ate my food, the

better I would feel and the more easily my body could repair any

damage I had done through past choices. The worst 'detox' I

experienced was a couple days (like 2)thinking I had a flu (and I

could have), a few pimples, some stinking bathroom days and gas.

I have noticed that it seems to be true that what we think about we

create. I would like to focus on people learning and choosing to eat

a healthy/healthier more natural lifestyle and diet and becoming

happy with a pleasant experience!

Someone said something about if you are against something - choose to

be for something (it's opposite possibly) instead!

I bet a bunch of us leading the way with positive experiences and

ditching the word or negative aspects of 'detox' might lead to

happier, easier, more pleasant experiences for everyone.

At least I'm happy! (okay the Pollyanna that I might be at heart)

Simply and lovingly,

Lesa
