We are planning a free teleconference on this topic sometime later this year. I know citrus type fruits are acid, but what others are? Belinda If you stick with primarily fruits and > tender greens, and emphasize sweet fruits over acid fruits, you'll be fine. Guest guest
Thank you so much Elchanan. This is very helpful. I eat a lot of grapes and would have considered them a sweet fruit. I see that they are mildly acidic. I think I eat a lot of acidic (or partialy acidic) kind of fruits. Right now, I am pigging out on strawberries, because they are in season here in TN. I will be checking out more about the fruits and the acid thing. blackberries, blueberries and peaches are on my list to check out next. Thanks again, Belinda rawfood , " Elchanan " <Elchanan wrote: > > And that mysterious food combining chart would be located at > > http://www.thewolfeclinic.com/foodcombining.html > > Sorry! > Elchanan > _____ > > rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of > Elchanan > Wednesday, May 30, 2007 8:27 AM > rawfood > RE: [Raw Food] a good short web page about pH levels in the body > > > Hi Belinda, > > Please look at this food combining chart for a brief overview. Guest guest
You're welcome, Belinda. Again, the chart tells only a portion of the story. Ripeness influences acidity, as do soil and rain/water composition. I have, on occasion, considered some grapes as sweet fruits ... seeded, very ripe. You can literally feel the difference in your mouth, the water inside is more viscous (thicker), loaded with sugar in solution to the saturation point. Strawberries also vary widely in sweetness and acidity ... many fruits do! A test in the mouth is worth more than a thousand posts! :) Best, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Belinda Wednesday, May 30, 2007 12:35 PM rawfood [Raw Food] Re: Food combining chart (WAS: a good short web page about pH levels in the body) Thank you so much Elchanan. Guest guest
Hi, I have a strange comment. I have been eating about a quart of strawberries a day for weeks. They are great! But... yesterday I went to Whole Foods and bought a few quarts and when I sat down to eat some, they absolutely tasted like the smell of nail polish remover to me. Have I been eating so many that my body is trying to tell me something? Or, did I just get a bad batch? I bought three quarts at the same time and they ALL taste like this. Thanks, Laura Elchanan <Elchanan wrote: You're welcome, Belinda. Again, the chart tells only a portion of the story. Ripeness influences acidity, as do soil and rain/water composition.
