You can figure how much iodine you should have in your diet by looking

up the RDA amounts of nutrients...but thats based on AMA/ADA

standards...if you were into that you probably wouldnt be here.

if youre going to worry about such small things as that you should

take a multivitamin.

there are much more serious deficiencies you could end up with while

eating raw than iodine...if you eat a wide variety of stuff you should

be fine.

im quite certain that primitive man didnt count his onions. 8-)

It would be difficult to imagine an iodine deficiency in anyone who consumes

substantial quantities of fresh, organic or better fruits and greens,

regardless of whether that person consumes a 100% raw diet.

Hi Belinda,

We need never consume onions.

I wish to encourage you away from eating for individual nutrients, largely

because it is impossible to do. Science presently identifies hundreds of

thousands of nutrients and potential nutrients. If we were actually to try

and select foods that are " high " in each specific nutrient, then we would

never do anything other than research and select foods.

If you are curious about onions, just do the little experiment I described a

few messages ago. You'll require no further input from anyone!

Best,

Elchanan

Multi vitamins make me nauseous. Which is one of the reasons I started

concentrating on getting my nutrients from my food.

I have however began supplamenting with a few individual things. I

have been feeling weak and tired for sometime now, so I began taking a

little bit of iron supplement and B-12. Not always every day but a few

times a week. It has helped me a lot. I just do not like taking

supplements, because I believe it is too easy to over do it. Which can

be worse than not enough. We humans have a tendency to over do a good

thing. And I am no exception.

:o) No doubt. Was probably just grateful to have what he had.

Sometimes I think we would be less stressed out if we didn't know about

all the things to worry about.

See if I had never known about " iodized " table salt, I wouldn't be

thinking a thing about iodine.

LoL...very true!

i get sick from vitamins too..but i found some natural ones that dont

bother me at all....theyr tablets that i can cut into small pieces

that i spread out throughout the day....got them at wild oats or whole

foods..dont remember which...

i am prone to anemia, particularly when on my period...so i take

iron... I go long periods of time without eating so i probly dont take

in enough stuff....i feel better with vitamins and iron..

plus i understand that modern fruits and veggies are about half as

nutritious now than they were 100 years ago..so for me..theyr a great

help.
