Guest guest
I'm wondering how the banana fast turned out for all of you who participated. 1. How long did you do it? 2. What were your results? 3. Would you do it again? 4. If you stopped earlier than planned, why? 5. Were you totally raw when beginning the banana fast or do you eat predominantly raw? 6. What type of side effects did you experience (headache, diarrhea, etc?) Thanks, for any help you can give. I am attempting this for the 2nd time with my 2 sister in laws who I am trying to get to eat more raw food. Last time I barely made it 1 day and thought if I ever so another banana I was going to be ill. Are there any other fruits that work or possibly fruit combinations? Guest guest
A1: I did it for about a week A2: My results, I felt better and felt CLEANED out A3: Yes I would do it again! A4: Didnt really have a planned " set " time A5: I was not totally raw to start with A6: Side effects vary by people, but I did have a few days of headaches that were not difficult to live with, just an annoyance~ never had diarrhea, it did take me till about day 4 for things to start " flowing " properly. And, I did spend a lot of time peeing! The banana thing isnt really a DIET. Its more like a way of giving your body a rest, and letting your digestive system catch up. PROS to eating all bananas: 1. NO COOKING 2. NO DISHES to do 3. Portable--goes anywhere 4. Cheap The main thing I found the first few days, was that I wasnt eating ENOUGH. My first few days I only ate about 8-9 bananas. THEN I started eating more and I felt better and it was easier to get through the day. By then I was eating at least 12-16 a day. I did lose about 14 pounds in 5 days, but you have to remember, this is mostly water and you will gain it right back!....but your system will be cleaner and you should feel better! I am now eating MOSTLY raw. I eat a lot of watermellon and grapes and strawberries now, and still the bananas. I am trying to get to the 811 pattern. I am still working towards it, and still reading the book, but every step is a step forward! " Hank@MT " <hank wrote: I'm wondering how the banana fast turned out for all of you who participated. 1. Guest guest
I personally still love bananas. I especially like to freeze the ones that are on the verge of being too ripe and then I whip them around my smoothie machine with a little bit of cold water and waalaa instant banana ice cream, no additives! (no splendia...lol) Just remember what I said, you may lose the weight, but it will come right back!!!! Guest guest
Belinda, you cannot " loose " what you do not have! Also, nowhere is it written in any law of nature that water weight " lost " must be regained (per an earlier comment by someone). This only occurs if and when one returns to the same way of eating that put the water weight there in the first place. Guest guest
Thanks to all who replied about the banana fast. I am hoping it will help get me back on track. I start my 3rd day tomorrow. I'm sure that I'm not eating enough bananas after reading these posts because I had 9 yesterday and about the same today. More than that and I begin to feel nauseaus. That said, I do feel very light and clean. My goal was 5 days but I'm taking it a day at a time. The main difference between yesterday and today is that yesterday I craved cooked food, today I craved raw again. A major step in the right direction.
