Guest guest
Hi everyone - I rarely post here, but I have a question. I did a one day water fast - I felt okay most of the day, had to take a nap because I was tired, but overall felt fine. At night, I had a low- grade fever (100.1 or so), cold sweat, insomnia - and in the morning I felt like I had a horrible hangover and actually (warning, gross part) vomited dark green mucus in the morning for a good 5 minutes. That part scared me a bit, but I'm assuming I'm just going through a major detox? After getting sick, I drank some water and had 2 bananas for breakfast...now I feel somewhat 'normal' again... any thoughts? thanks for listening - day
Guest guest
strong reaction for just a one day water fast. im no doctor..but disregarding the water fast, that sounds like a a reaction to a stomach virus or bacteria...could you have gotten bad water? stomach virus can occur anytime..even without food..mighta just been bad timing... anna On 6/5/07, day_kaz <cheetarra wrote: > Hi everyone - I rarely post here, but I have a question. Guest guest
Is it possible that you could have a slight sinus infection? Sinus drainage during the night? That often can make you nauseous. Especially on an empty stomach. Though I have rarely had a sinus infection, I do suffer sinus congestion and drainage sometimes from allergies. As well as drainage for bronchial problems. When the mucus drainage from all this winds up in the stomach, it can and often does make you sick to the point of throwing up. Especially in the morning. Just another way to get rid of the mucus. Green mucus is usually a sign of infection. Which would explain the low grade fever. Belinda rawfood , " day_kaz " <cheetarra wrote: > > Hi everyone - I rarely post here, but I have a question. Guest guest
green mucous is from the deep intestine...if anyone has had a stomach virus that empties you to the point of dry heaves you will see it. it not negating the possibility of a sinus thing but 5 min of vomiting will result in deep mucous being released...since one vomiting session would take mere seconds...5 min of this will actually leave your abs sore the next day! did your lips tingle before the vomiting? Thats a sure sign of food poisoning..which again...can come from a bug in water...it sounds to me like food poisoning that was successfully evacuated prior to entering the small intestine...but i can be wrong. peace anna On 6/5/07, Belinda <MistyBlueTN wrote: > Is it possible that you could have a slight sinus infection? Guest guest
Based upon this information, your interpretation seems plausible. What was your diet like for a couple of days prior to this? Guest guest
Thank you, everyone, for your replies - a sinus problem seems likely now that it was pointed out to me, I have a terrible post-nasal drip that I'm trying to rid myself of by eating raw. It's constant, and gets worse when I eat ANYTHING - the only improvement I saw was when I tried a monodiet of bananas for a day - I felt like I could acutually BREATHE! Anyway, it could have just been a build-up of mucus that ended up in my stomach... which would expain the nausea. My lips didn't tingle, I don't think it was food poisoning. The reaction just scared me - like it was pointed out - it seemed like a severe reaction to just one day of water fasting. I have done a short-term (3 days) water fast before, and nothing like this has ever happened. Elchanan - as for my diet prior to the one day water fast - I have been about 85% raw (seriously striving to be 100%), but I have been eating a lot of fats - nuts, avocados... I cheated with a handful of french fries (yuck) the evening before I did the fast, which could explain my extreme discomfort. Lesson learned! Again, thank you everyone for your input. ~Day _______________ Get a preview of Live Earth, the hottest event this summer - only on MSN http://liveearth.msn.com?source=msntaglineliveearthhm
Guest guest
Hi, I suggest using a Neti Pot. Lots of information on this using Google. It cleanses the head and sinuses. I use mine almost every day. Twice a day if I feel stuffy, though I generally don't.
