Guest guest
Hi Anna, Great questions!!! I do wash a bit, just not with chemicals. Yes, our bodies are continually shedding old cells and replacing them with new. For example, the superficial cells in the mouth are replaced almost daily, if I understand correctly. But this experience is designed to require no special conscious action on our part. A simple, naked run through the forest or jungle, brushing up against the leaves, should do the trick. Of course, if that approach seems impractical for some strange reason, it still doesn't matter. I mean, have you EVER seen any healthy person with a buildup of dead skin cells on their skin? Trust Nature's design ... learn to trust it all the way, over time. We don't have to " do something " all the time; if we merely live healthfully, then our body largely takes care of itself, from a health perspective. Then what we do becomes almost entirely cosmetic in nature ... and can be great fun!! (Picture kids and face painting As for skin brushing, I do not use this, but I have no objection to it. I just prefer to spend my time and energy elsewise, that's all. :) Best, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Anna Bishop Wednesday, June 06, 2007 8:08 AM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Our Potential for Health (pH) (WAS: Why not stop using products?) my understanding is that we shed skin cells constantly. Dead skin cells decay because of bacteria. Dead skin smells bad. We use water to wash away oils and dead skin cells. elchanan, since you dont wash in the traditional sense....do you use a skin brush to remove the decaying dead skin cells? ive heard that many raw eaters swear by body brushing... peace anna
Guest guest
k thanks.. the folks i see with skin caked on them live on the streets of the city i work for..and noooo one can mistake them for healthy! one good bath does wonders for them though... bathing is an old and useful act...within society it has saved lives...i think you know the value in handwashing...some cultures avoided the plague in europe because of it 8-). i think living in such tight quarters has required an extra level of *anti-ceptic* washing behaviors that are not required in wide open spaces. The antibacterial handiwipe at the supermarket is a g-dsend if you could see whos hands touch it in my city. In other words we are in a filthy environment that goes beyond our own cleanliness but requires an aggressive *defense* from those so far from the average level of clean that they could be their own hazmat situation. peace anna On 6/6/07, Elchanan <Elchanan wrote: > Hi Anna, > > Great questions!!! Guest guest
A simple, naked run through the forest or > jungle, brushing up against the leaves, should do the trick. LOL! (picturing myself trying this and brushing up against poison ivy. and then trying to explain how I got it. However, I am thinking that I would not get chiggers, because chiggers get on you and latch on where ever your clothes fit tight. But can't risk the poison ivy. So I will have to pass on this. Even though the excersise would be great for me) > just prefer to spend my time and energy elsewise, that's all. :) What. Guest guest
elchanan had some good imagery there i have to admit.primitive man no doubt rolled around in leaves and stuff.. oh wait..so do our transients.... this is why they have mites and scabes as well as fleas and staph infections....they need scrubbing with seriously powerful stuff..maybe gasoline...i dunno...and because THEY are that far gone I need to wash with real stuff....now i dont touch these people...but my officers do..and as clean as they try to be, they catch TB, staph, and other things so im gonna be careful! i recognize im not the norm though... peace anna On 6/6/07, Belinda <MistyBlueTN wrote: > A simple, naked run through the forest or > > jungle, brushing up against the leaves, should do the trick. > > LOL!
