Guest guest
Hi Anna, From my perspective, you've touched upon THE cause of almost all " public health problems " . All the " epidemics " , " plagues " , and the like arise from hyperdense human population and the trash we create as a result. For example, the plague (bubonic) travels on fleas, which travel on rats, whose population explodes in the vicinity of human trash. So high-density trash, deposited by humans living in high-density habitats, is really the primary cause, from a public health perspective, of all " contagious " diseases. And when the herd is thinned (as when nearly half the human population of Europe was wiped out during the 1300s), then the problem resolves. Of course, staying indoors with no fresh air, lack of physical activity, poor diet, and so forth compound the problem, and we end up with " disastrous epidemics " of one sort or another. All of our own creation, all just as easily not created. But hand-washing and antiseptics cannot resolve the underlying trash problem, these techniques can only push the problem around a bit, and then only until the density of trash surpasses some threshold level. In the long run, we cannot preserve and nurture life through practices whose specific intent is to destroy life. One day, if enough of us learn this oh-so-simple lesson from our history -- a lesson we have repeated countless times -- then on that day, finally, we shall experience sustainable health, for ourselves and for all life around us. And until that day, most people shall remain sickly and weak, vulnerable ( " susceptible " or " prone " ) to all manner of symptoms, " accidents " , and the like. Therefore let us choose life ... by creating our own vitality and by supporting and nurturing all life. And for those who asked recently, there is a bit more drawn upon the beliefs taught in Vibrant Living Ministries ... just FYI. Best to all, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Anna Bishop Wednesday, June 06, 2007 8:55 AM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Hi Anna, k thanks.. the folks i see with skin caked on them live on the streets of the city i work for..and noooo one can mistake them for healthy! one good bath does wonders for them though... bathing is an old and useful act...within society it has saved lives...i think you know the value in handwashing...some cultures avoided the plague in europe because of it 8-). i think living in such tight quarters has required an extra level of *anti-ceptic* washing behaviors that are not required in wide open spaces. The antibacterial handiwipe at the supermarket is a g-dsend if you could see whos hands touch it in my city. In other words we are in a filthy environment that goes beyond our own cleanliness but requires an aggressive *defense* from those so far from the average level of clean that they could be their own hazmat situation. peace anna
