How long could you live on ...? (WAS: Deodorant)

Great question. A lifetime ... as long as the fruits are ripe, the nuts and

avocado are occasional, and the greens are a regular component. And of

course, as long as you get plenty of rest, activity, sunshine ... the usual

components of healthful living.

The best source of dietary variety comes from changing soils/growing

locales. For example, monkeys will travel from fig spot to fig spot as the

figs ripen. And each time they move a bit, the soil, and other growing

characteristics change, and their diet varies.

hey elchanan..

if a person stuck to the same 5-6 foods day after day...staying 100%

raw...how long till a deficiency might show?

i kno it depends on the foods..but say...banana, peach, spinach

smoothies....watermelon... Salad with assorted greens, and avocado, and

mayb little snacks like raisins and nuts...occassionally.

thats it. How long could i live on this?

excellent!

i like regularity over variety...meaning that if i know what im going to

get, and when its in season, and i get the same stuff all the time, its

soooo much easier than trying to " think " about what to eat....

i know what my favorite foods are,,ill stick to those and only stretch

when something special is in season...

this is a pattern i was in this month..i found that getting the same stuff

and doing the same thing actually worked...i didnt have to worry...and

i looked forward to it...when i get past this hormonal madness ive got

a really gooooood plan!! i know just what foods im gonna eat...

thanks!

we are hypermotivated now...!!

If doing this, don't you run the risk of developing a food allergy

(especially if you have leaky gut)? Or is this only for SAD foods?

Thanks,

Crystal

Hi Anna,

Hypermotivated sounds fun!!

Someone asked (I deleted the message, sorry) about leaky gut. The best

solution is to make life easy for your gut ... eat simply, digest simply,

and your system will heal that gut.

I understand what you are saying, it makes sense to me, However, I tend to have

2 cycles.

I can go awhile with the same old stuff and be fine, then all of a sudden I feel

" bored " . I then feel the need for variety. I need something different. I can't

get bored with what I'm eating because it tends to make my eyes wander to the

bad stuff. lol I have to keep my taste buds stimulated and happy.

thats interesting.....

i have found though that the lower the stimulation from the food the

less bad stuff i want...this has been said many times in other

areas..too much variety is detrimental when it comes to human

desire..from mating to car buying..too much choice is confusing and

over stimulating so were never satisfied.

if i got bored i would take that as a sign to branch out and vary my

diet..im not anal..no ocd here..i dont expect to be overly rigid..but

i do want a regular base of foods that i can count on being ripe and

pleasurable..

see..i have in the past bought tons of fancy raw gourmet foods just

either throw it out rotten or overeat it....this is cuz im still

thinking sad rules about shopping....theres a difference when eating

regular raw foods....shopping is whipping in and whipping out from 2

aisles in the produce section..bing bang done....and i actually eat

it..saves me all kinds of money...

but i did wanna make sure i wudnt cheat myself out of nutrients...but

ill rotate..

Jeannie,

I suggest to you that this " need " you experience for something different

does not arise within you as a physical need. The answers lie in other parts

of you ... in your mind, in needs unmet over long periods of time.

There is no " it " that " makes " your eyes " wander " anywhere. There is only

you, distractible and distracted, etc.

Stimulated taste buds, in the sense that you mean, are hyperstimulated taste

buds ... they lose their capacity for taste when so hyperstimulated. What

you are experiencing is the opposite of what you believe you are

experiencing. For each time you feel " bored " , your taste buds (among other

things) are beginning to come back online, to regain their biologically

normal functionality. And this success...this authenticity...you fear. That

is my sense.

What can I say? I'm just weird that way. My dh is more like you. He could eat

the same thing every day and be happy. It does make it easy for me in that

sense. I guess there must be something " unsettled " about me when I get like

that. I just have times when I just need something different. I am like that in

all areas of my life.

Jeannie,

I suggest to you that this " need " you experience for something different

does not arise within you as a physical need. The answers lie in other parts

of you ... in your mind, in needs unmet over long periods of time.

I agree, I do know it is a mental thing and not a physical need. I just don't

know how to overcome the mental thing. However, I do enjoy variety in life in

general.

There is no " it " that " makes " your eyes " wander " anywhere. There is only

you, distractible and distracted, etc.

I agree with this. I am easily distracted.

Stimulated taste buds, in the sense that you mean, are hyperstimulated taste

buds ... they lose their capacity for taste when so hyperstimulated. What

you are experiencing is the opposite of what you believe you are

experiencing. For each time you feel " bored " , your taste buds (among other

Okay Jeannie, I am willing to share more ... if you are willing to do some

work, as well.

I keep mentioning these free audio programs the Path of Health Community

makes available. For my sake as much as for yours, I ask now that you listen

to a few of them. I'm sending you a private message with the links, as this

particular Group's settings annihilate long links.
