Guest guest
Hi, would be grateful if you would sign your posts. High blood pressure results from a self-abusive lifestyle ... improper and/or inadequate diet, exercise, rest, etc. .... As with almost all symptoms, high blood pressure cannot and should not be " controlled " . Rather, living a healthful lifestyle restores balance to one's system, and the so-called " high blood pressure " simply disappears. The silent killer can be controlled with the proper medicated treatment and by following the doctor advises. The first thing you have to do after you have been diagnosed with hypertension, is to be aware and to learn how to live with it, because the faster you take some measures, the faster you can stop it from threatening your life. Guest guest
Anna, I used to have dibilitating migraines - crying, pressure so painful, sinuses messed up completely - had to have dark as in Black room, cold as in a/c and extremely quiet with cold wash rags over my eyes to rest. They could last 3-4 days once I think it was a week. Growing up we didn't believe in going to doctors so I was told they were 'sick headaches' and to quit bellyaching and get back to work. (rolling my eyes - they tried, imagine the frustration in parents w/6 kids) Anyway - a few years ago I learned that they were migraines when I visited doctor's offices for basically the first times in my life on a regular basis. I stopped visiting those lovely, bless thier hearts, misguided souls about 1 year and hmmm 3 months ago! I became 100% raw (okay a couple steamed broccoli's here and there 99%) on June 29 last year. Haven't had a migraine since. Only had one 'almost' headache - realized I was getting anxious, chilled out, found a quiet spot - rested my eyes and was all better in 15-20 mins. I believe, based on my personal experience, that my migraines are healed due to my choosing a more natural, simple lifestyle - ya raw food! (others experiences might differ) I think our bodies are wonderful creations - it's amazing how, given the right amount of appropriate natural food, rest, water, air and sunshine this creation we live in can just repair it's little ole self! Aren't we glad we get to experience this! Guest guest
I don't have migraines. I do have hypothyroid. I have been raw for 2 months now. I have been feeling so tired. Unable to get enough sleep. I stopped taking my thyroid meds thinking my raw diet would fix my thyroid. I had my blood work the other day and it was way off the charts bad. Doctor said he is not surprised I am feeling so badly.I told my doctor I had tried to fix it on my own with raw food. He was not happy about that. He said that fruits and veggies these days can't be trusted to be all natural, what with all the gmo and who knows what kind of scientifically engineered lab created stuff. He said " If I thought you could fix a thyroid with food, don't you think I'd have all my patients off of thyroid meds and I'd be famous " . LOL Instead of the highest dose ( that's what I was on) he started me again on 112MG. Jeannie your time is the most cherished gift of all, tomorrow is promised to no one. Guest guest
interesting argument on his part... dont trust the fruits and veggies because theyre not all natural.. so eat cooked food instead? dont take the drug that MIGHT hurt you....take the one that we know will kill you. and he wont prescribe something different than the AMA recommends because he would be laughed out of he biz and lose his license... remember what happened to Dr. Atkins? his theories were not accepted until he died.. the system would not give him the credit. it was too proud....competition in the medical field is fierce..alternative medical practice are just not accepted. im not saying that eating raw would cure your thyroid disorder....im just saying his argument is weak against raw food. peace anna On 6/12/07, jeannieh h <jeannieh99 wrote: > > I don't have migraines. > I do have hypothyroid. Guest guest
all I can say about migraines related to food........ when I first started my path to eating raw, I had a business trip out of town. I had only been eating raw for about a week and a half, and still had some serious cravings (still have cravings, but less serious ) so when we stopped at McDonalds (haha, yuck!) I ordered a chicken sandwich, fries and a drink. 45 minutes later, I had a full blown migraine. Of course, I chalked it up to driving without my glasses and it being very bright out. However.... The next week, same situation, exact same experience. Let me tell you, that ended those cravings! Migraines suck. It's official. -k ______________________________\ ____ Need Mail bonding? Guest guest
wow! im very big on clear signs of anything. Once i see something with no doubt i am easily converted. Its the doubt that keeps me going cuz i can rationalize...but once i see it clear.im done. this last month has been very profound for me cuz ive discovered these triggers and their reactions...and its not me and will power....now i kno why a single fast food binge brings on days of binging....never again.... if i want cooked food ill cook it myself with organic food.. if i could clearly see a migraine connection i would be unstoppable...im zeroing in on that tho...i can feel it....havent had one in 2 weeks...hey..i just noticed something.. theyr always on weekends....in april i had 3 migraines..i was getting so many i started keeping track...sat 21st, sat 28th, sun 29th...i switched to raw after that..in may i had 1 on sat may 26..a full month after the last one...all of them on saturdays...except for apr 29.....thats weird..whats going on there i wonder.... that neurologist and i are gonna talk! anna On 6/13/07, Kerri Hagan <twinkles457 wrote: > all I can say about migraines related to food........ > > when I first started my path to eating raw, I had a > business trip out of town. Do you get very stressed at work? (I assume law enforcement is stressful at best!) Just a thought - my stepdad used to get migraines every weekend, and every time he had time off, like christmas and other holidays. He was very stressed out at work, and whenever he had a moment to stop, it was like his body kicked in with a " right, that's IT, no more! you're going down until you're calm " . I noticed, too, particularly when my boy had to have surgery, whenever I was stressed about that, usually for a week or so before the surgery date, I'd be all keyed up until then, then as soon as he woke up afterwards, I'd relax, and I'd be sick for a week afterwards, so I figured I must be allergic to stress. Or it could be foods you're eating either at work or at home. *cheeky grin* do you have splenda in your coffee on fridays? Caron
