Guest guest
The reason so many things " taste good " in smoothies is that we use certain foods to mask the taste, smell, and/or texture of other items we would otherwise never (or rarely) eat. Eating whole foods allows us to connect directly with each food individually, and therefore to inform ourselves much more accurately as to what actually IS food for us. Guest guest
so the fact that i dont like them should be a sign that i shouldnt eat them? and my masking it is actually bad for me? anna On 6/17/07, Elchanan <Elchanan wrote: > The reason so many things " taste good " in smoothies is that we use certain > foods to mask the taste, smell, and/or texture of other items we would > otherwise never (or rarely) eat. Guest guest
There is a reason why Dr. Ann Wigmore wrote an entire book devoted to blending. A recent book devoted to the healing power of blended greens, complete with studies and testimonials, is called Green For Life by Victoria Boutenko. The simple and brilliant logic behind blending your greens (and other fruits/veggies, but mainly greens), is that it breaks down the cellulose. Simply put, most of us do not have the stomach acid to break them down. What raises stomach acid? Bitter greens. Must. Find. Way. To. Break. Down. Greens. Blend them! So much easier to digest. Remember, it's not what you eat, but what you assimilate/digest. Pre-digesting the food by blending it, especially when digestion is almost always impaired to some degree, is extremely wise and has helped many regain their health. After all, all toxemia/dis-ease begins in the gut. So, get your money's worth from those greens and blend them. :-) Want to make a salad healthier? Throw the whole thing in the blender. For more great information, check out Dr. Ann Wigmore's timeless classic, The Blending Book. She healed thousands of cancer, AIDS, and everything in-between on a very simple largely blended diet. :-) Blending fruits, greens and superfoods or sprouts are great ways to eat optimal nutrition while still enjoying a delicious smoothie. It is by far one of the healthiest things you can do. Hope this helps.
