Guest guest
Hi Jeannie, Earlier today, a couple of people seemed to agree when I suggested that if your information comes from a " reputable source " , it's probably wrong. I meant what I said, quite literally. Some years ago, I pretty much stopped reading most things. Why? Because I don't want in my head what is in those things. Same with conversations ... I often stop people when it seems obvious they are going in a direction I really don't want between my ears. I have learned that whatever goes out of my mouth or yours goes back through my ears and sticks in my mind. So I've become rather choosy. Articles state that we should take (aka, eat) an aspirin a day to prevent heart attacks ... though it is well known that chronic use of aspirin destroys the stomach, and that lowering one's total cholesterol below 150 basically eliminates almost all heart disease. Articles state that we should drink a glass of wine a day to prevent heart attacks (to " relax " ) ... though it is well know that chronic consumption of alcohol is devastating to one's system. Articles say it is safe to use birth control pills, hormone replacement therapy, processed meats, dyes in foods, pesticides, vaccines, ... hopefully I need not go on. You really can find an article that says something about anything. One of the leaders in the U.S. Congress has explained on many occasions that there is disagreement within the scientific community about whether global warming is real. So one scientist did a literature review on the topic ... looked at more than 1500 peer-reviewed papers on global warming. Guess how many challenged the idea ... ZERO. But then, they followed up with a survey of the " popular press " , newspapers and such, and found that more than 50% of all articles on the topic spoke of disagreement within the scientific community. (This is documented in Al Gore's book, among other places.) So stop reading the popular press ... ALL of it. Stop watching the news on TV ... ALL of it. I could go on and on ... perhaps some other time. Just find a teacher you trust and work with him/her, learn from him/her ... REALLY learn what they are teaching, not the slipshod learning in which most people engage. Then you'll do fine, really! " And yes, garlic harms the system, all one need do is eat none for a month or two, then have some as the first " meal " of the day. There can be NO doubt there, either. " aww man!! Now you are taking my garlic away from me???? say it isn't so? What about the fact that in so many articles it states that garlic is good for the blood. Onions and garlic are said to be great for the blood. I put onions and sometimes garlic in my SALT-LESS salads... What are you doing to me????????????????????????????? Guest guest
Garlic is a natural antibiotic. It warded off the black plague, when 80% of the people were dying. It is super healthy, sorry. You can put it in your water overseas to not get poisoning, etc. Building a website is a piece of cake. Small Business gives you all the tools to get online. Guest guest
I would totally disagree. It is far more dangerous to just listen to one person. Rarely does one person have all the answers. I have never found that to be true. I have learned so much more about health in general just by listening to an abundance of natural health teachers (obviously quoting western science " studies " is not really making a point, we all know they are garbage, with their " coffee cures parkinsons! " crap. Very much agreed on that point). I'm talking about McDougall and Bernard (brilliant but cooked), Fuhrman, Goldhamer, Schulze, Wigmore, Rife, Walker, Dr. Christopher and others. You in fact, imho, shouldn't just listen to " one " person or guru. It creates a tunnel vision in many ways. Sick sense of humor? Visit TV's Comedy with an Edge to see what's on, when. Guest guest
LOL! I personally did not come into contact with the black plague, thank God. I totally researched it for a book I wrote on living foods/health & healing. Looking for a deal? Find great prices on flights and hotels with FareChase. Guest guest
you mentioned birth control so that brings to my mind if you were someone who wanted to take no type of meds what would you do? I know some 'natural' methods do not work Elchanan <Elchanan wrote: Hi Jeannie, Earlier today, a couple of people seemed to agree when I suggested that if your information comes from a " reputable source " , it's probably wrong. Guest guest
Good heavens. If garlic warded off the black plague, then what happened to the 50% of the population of Europe that died during that time? Do you honestly mean to say that they forgot to eat their garlic, while those around them ate it? Sheesh! Guest guest
LOL. I thought it was over 50% died in Europe. But it has been a while since I read about it. It also seems there was some ideas as to why the ones that survived the plague, did survive. But I cannot quite remember what they said. (I will say that I don't remember garlic being mentioned.) Guest guest
Some very interesting statistical studies have been done on plagues and other repetitive epidemics ... smallpox and the like. And it has been observed that they all occur cyclically. Of course, data are limited going back in time, and suppositions are made. But the idea of some cyclicality is interesting to ponder. As for why some survived, each of us has a different level of vitality, based upon our mental health, diet, activity, exposure to fresh air and sunshine, previous injuries, etc. It's like culling any herd, the hardiest most vital tend to survive. But a 50% wipeout is pretty massive. Of course, at times in history, things have been far worse.
