I was told to put it in my green drinks and sprinkle on my salads. I'd also

like to know what else you can do with it.

People who pursue an 80/10/1 program routinely heal thyroid problems ...

without any special effort or list of " do's " and " don'ts " . Much easier, much

more stable lifestyle, therefore much more permanent, in my opinion.

You might want to consider Angela Stokes work: www.rawreform.com - she

healed her thyroid and goes into detail about what foods to avoid

(oranges, kale, etc) and what to eat to heal the thyroid (I believe

sea veggies is one of them, etc).

Jeannie,

I think that Elchanan meant to say 80/10/10. It's a diet developed

by Douglas Graham. The book is called The 80 10 10 diet. It's 80%

carbohydrates, 10% protein, and 10% fat. The recipes in the book are

great and follow the food combining chart (you can also purchase that

separately.)

Hope that helps,

Lynne

Sorry, that was a Thai-Poh. I meant 80/10/10 ... minimum of 80% of calories

from carbs, primarily simple sugars, and maximum of 10% of calories each

from proteins and fats.

Sorry, Jeannie,

You can't buy it at Barnes and Nobles. I tried that route first.

You have to go to Douglas Graham's website and order it directly from there.

As far as the salt is concerned, there are some recipes with sun

dried tomatoes in them. Other than that, I don't think he believes in

using any salt in the diet.

Hope that helps!

Lynne

P. S. I have the pine nuts and I'm making it tonight. Did you say to

use a jalepeno pepper in the pesto sauce?

I " m planning on having my pesto sauce on top of the eggplant,

but my husband is planning on cooking some spaghetti to go with the

pasta sauce. Maybe someday.....he'll get it...

Lynne,

Oh ok. Well, I will have to wait until I can afford to get the book. I have

plenty to keep me busy until then.

In response to your PS....No, I do not use jalapeno in my pesto sauce. I guess

you could if you like it hot. I don't happen to like my pesto hot. I might use a

tad of pepper but not jalapeno. Let me know how it comes out. YUM!!!

As for your dh......my dh is not 100% either. I had to cook him a steak tonight

because that is what he wanted. :-(

They aren't perfect are they??? ;-)

You are so funny!!! My poor husband either eats what I eat or he fends for

himself LOL!!! I'm not making two meals. Needless to say, he doesn't eat

raw food and I know he won't until he is ready.

Caroline,

Yeah well, I'm kinda old fashioned that way. I enjoy cooking and cleaning for my

husband. I Love taking care of him and making sure all his needs are met. He

also takes care of me in so many ways. We have a true friendship/partnership. We

have different roles but each is equally important.

You are so funny!!! My poor husband either eats what I eat or he fends for

himself LOL!!! I'm not making two meals. Needless to say, he doesn't eat

raw food and I know he won't until he is ready.

I never really liked cooking to begin with. When we started going out and

first living together, we went out to eat 5 times a week. I bought

cookbooks and tried recipes, but I spent so much time preparing and the

clean up took forever too. I'm just not a kitchen/cooking type of person.

I do most of the stuff around the house, because I'm home with my daughter,

and I don't mind that. He does lots of stuff too. It works well for us.

Have a great day

Caroline,

Yeah well, I'm kinda old fashioned that way. I enjoy cooking and cleaning

for my husband. I Love taking care of him and making sure all his needs are

met. He also takes care of me in so many ways. We have a true

friendship/partnership. We have different roles but each is equally

important.
