One limitation in any conversation such as this arises from taboos ... has

there been a society without sexual taboos? We humans don't respond to " no "

very well. Perhaps if we were to start over, with no taboos, then all this

would go away.

I do know, from personal experience, that very few Jewish children become

alcoholics. Why? Because, at least historically (though changing now),

Jewish kids drank a little wine on Sabbaths, Passover, etc.

The absence of taboo means the absence of " titillation " , of overexcitement.

Just a thought ...Elchanan

i agree....they build in the titillation for no good reason..except

mayb to upset the family..but thats another much bigger subject...not

raw food related.we can see this in the obsession with breasts

here......totally not like that in europe, africa or south

america....it does increase porn sales though..ie. Magazines, internet

sites, movies, etc...

again...artificially creating the need then providing the cure..

its EVERYWHERE here....most americans are oblivious....but i digress....

so how bout the watermelons this season? Pretty sweet huh?

absolutely..

in native american cultures coitus was considered so natural a

function that it was enjoyed even when sleeping in groups inside

teepees...it was inpolite to watch, so it would be ignored....

but they had no taboos about it so no one got all offended or over

stimulated by it..

homosexuals were considered holy men/women because they had one foot

in each world...they were considered closer to the creator than those

divided by gender.. Their gifts of extra creativity were seen as being

given by G-d...talk about a 180 degree change in point of view...

this western culture that were in is so messed up in so many

ways...its really sad...

oh..and theyd get married when they wanted and would separate when

they wanted..theyd just tell their mates they wanted to....no big

dramas.....but such " divorces " were relatively uncommon...

if it hurt them, theyd buck up and deal with it...it was not

acceptable to be an overattached possessive weakling...holding someone

back could be said to be their taboo....

I personally would not be able to handle it if my

husband even so much as mentioned that he wanted to be

with someone else.

That being said, I have been in the situation where it

has been a conscious decision not to act on

attraction.

and thats a fair and honest position.

most people think just like you..and that should be respected...im

certain youd rather be told FIRST that he wanted another person than

after he does it and you find out some other way...thats horrid.

youre gonna hurt either way..but if you hear it first you can keep the

respect for him...this keeps doors open for future intereaction.

ive had veeeery open relationships..and i have more respect for them

than " loyal " ones that probably (you never really know) cheated but

said not...

just my 2 cents..

Hmm, my mom was from Ireland and I wonder what " zigged " instead of

" zagged " in my story! (giggle) Been 18+ years of not having to try

and be " Irish " (burp) anymore!
