I've only been raw for about 12 days now, but here is what I have been doing:

Breaksfast:

juice 4 carrots, an apple, 2 stalks of celery, some cucumber and add it to a

full blender of spinach. Blend and enjoy!!

Fruits as a snack. Usually nectarines and apricots and bananas

Lunch:

Banana smoothie. 2 really ripe bananas sometimes frozen, a little almond milk

and little agave (one of my favorite sweet tooth substitues)

Fruits as snacks. More nectarines, some pineapple or mango (any fruit really)

Dinner:

Romaine lettuce with shredded carrots, cucumber, brocolli and sometimes

mushrooms. I make dressing with half an avocado and add juice from an orange

and lime and fresh cilatro. I don't have the dressing every night. I also like

shredded zuccini with tomatoes and basil. I have been sticking with what I

like. Not much variety but I'm good with that.

Night time snack if I get hungry...you guessed it...more fruit.

I feel like I eat all day long LOL!!! I try to eat something as soon as I feel

hunger coming on so I don't have time to think about eating SAD food.

Anna, do you make your own vinegerette?

Also, I see some of you speak of eating cashews. Do you eat them

raw? I have never eaten raw cashews and have only rarely even seen

them. Do they taste very different from cooked cashews?

yes..when i have it i make my own..got it from raw in 10 minutes..a

recipe book..very yummy..but tryin to cut down on oil....

as for cashews..yes " raw " altho i understnd theres really no such

thing since you need heat to open the pod and extract them.

Caroline,

You wrote: " I try to eat something as soon as I feel hunger coming on so I

don't have time to think about eating SAD food. "

You hit the nail on the head!! I think this is the key to success and/or

failure. I think that If I had some substatial raw food handy, there is a

fairly good chance I would not have succumbed to the fried chicken yesterday. I

don' always have raw food with me handy. I have to find a way to fix that.

Yup

When I am hungry I am most likely to eat anything in sight.

I always take a small cooler with fruit and ice anywhere I go just in case I

get hungry. Or I can stop at Wawa and get a banana but then I see all the

other stuff and it is a little harder LOL!!

Have a great night

This thinking applies equally to all areas of self-care. For example, many

people report that they have trouble " warming up " at times. The key is never

to become " cold " in the first place ... and it's easy, once you shift your

mindset about it.

Best,

Elchanan

I eat alot of bananas! I sometimes start the day with several bananas, then

follow up with a fruit smoothie, made with frozen bananas. Today's was a mix ( I

like to experiment) about 1 1/2 frozen bananas, cantalope, blueberries, watermelon

and local honey. A bit sweet, but good! Lunch is usually a salad, peaches or

plums or banana. I use a homemade dressing of apple cider vinigar, olive oil

salt & pepper. I found I can get more salad in a tupperware (lunch/dinner is at

work) by cutting the lettuce and other vegi's in small pieces, small enough to

scoop with a spoon. I like this alot better it's easier to eat if I am crunched

for time. I sometimes work through my meal. I make guacamole (avacado, lime

jiuce, sea salt) and have a handful of tortilla chips... I am about 80-100% raw

most days. I *try* very hard to keep raw - if I can't through lack of

pre-planning, I stick with a vegitarian meal. I work at a SAD grocery store, so

most days (depending on my frame of mind) even w/o

planning I can choose vegi's over anything else that is sold at my store.

Natalie,

oh you are lucky to work at a grocery store! Wow, you can just walk over to the

produce area and pick your food fresh all the time! How cool.
