Guest guest
Caron, Sorry for the long delay in responding ... I'm cleaning up a bit of my backlog. Your stomach ache is your key symptom, not your craving. We are used to ... trained to ... focus upon our hysteria, our off-balance emotions. And in so doing, we completely miss our genuine, core symptoms. What might your system -- your subconscious -- be saying to your conscious awareness? What might your system be asking you to do? Perhaps the obvious is exactly correct ... continue not to eat for a bit. When you fast, you create a state of relative rest within, and your system immediately transfers resources from the usual digestive overload and toward some cleanup. A stomach ache is cleanup-in-progress. So appreciate your stomach ache, and listen to the obvious ... don't eat! Drink plenty of water, and REST!!!! That's the key to almost all cleansing and restoration of every part of our being, body, mind, and spirit. Didn't eat yesterday, beyond the limejuice in my water mid-morning. I'd had a salad at my parents place the night before, plus a few dates and apples, but something didn't sit right after not eating all day, so I had a belly ache that night. Last night craved pizza and chips while I was trying to sleep, and today I'm debating whether to go get some. I think I need more water, but it's very cold, and drinking water makes me feel cold inside too. (just had a brilliant idea and turned the cooler off on my water filter, so will see if that helps!) So at this point, I don't know if I should be continuing to fast, or interpreting my cravings as my body asking for food. Yesterday and the day before, I didn't feel like eating (I ate the salad so I wouldn't be tempted to eat the cooked food mum had made, or the cake she had cooking in the oven), but then the cravings set in, so I wonder if that means I need to eat now (fruit, not pizza, though it is tempting on a cold day! even though I hate pizza...). These days, and for the last 8 years, it seems to have been asking me to sleep, but no amount of sleep has helped. Also to stop eating, and drink more water - both of which have been discouraged by everyone who hears of it. I know, I'm no longer listening to them, but 8 years of scare tactics are hard to overcome in a day ;o) >Perhaps the obvious is exactly correct ... continue not to eat for a bit. Thanks, I plan to do that this week, after 2 horrible weeks of off and on horrible eating, and a mess in my poor belly. Need to get the boy back on track too. There is name for this ... it is " fasting " :) The basic rule of biology is this: If you CAN sleep, then you NEED to sleep. The way you have lived for many years has indeed exhausted your entire being .... physically, mentally, emotionally. The need for rest that you perceive is indeed real. Perhaps begin thinking of ways to honor your own system ... ??? Short of finding the peak of a mountian in Tibet though, I'm not sure how to get that rest though. I'm still having to get the boy up twice a night to pee, so usually don't go to bed till after midnight, and he has a rather unpleasant habit of following the sun, so he's up at the crack of dawn. I did notice a dramatic improvement in his nighttime peeing after being raw for about a week, so I'm going to try for that again, and see if I can let him go all night without a wet bed, then will start training myself to go to bed earlier. He learned to go to bed when it gets dark, he even tells me when it's bedtime, so surely I can do it too. Caron
