Guest guest
Hi Belinda, The distinction arises not in whether or not a woman has a period, but rather in our understanding of what a period actually is. It is completely normal for a woman to shed the unused egg and accompaniments following a number of days without fertilization. That is the period, and I feel rather certain this woman continues to do this, assuming that she really is fertile. But the amount of such shedding is small ... after all, the unfertilized egg is a single cell!!! In contrast, most women bleed monthly and CALL it their period. This is what we have all been taught to expect and to believe. But the body is far more intelligent than this way of thinking suggests. But I am aware of no healthy state in which the human body voluntarily sheds blood. Blood is the flow of life throughout the body, and the body will not sacrifice it's blood except in the presence of rather dire circumstances. Whenever a woman bleeds at menstruation time, her body is pressing her reproductive system into " forced service " (kind of like being drafted) as an avenue of elimination. But this is not " normal " in any biological sense, except as a response to toxic overload. What this woman describes is not an unpredictable cycle, but rather a disappearing cycle of bleeding. If she continues her present lifestyle, then in all likelihood that 6-month interval will vanish. (Again, we are taking at face value her assertion that she is fertile.) As for doctors ... well, they are not " alarmed " when people poop once a week! So who cares what they say! I'm following this post with a much longer one, a first draft of a paper or pamphlet to be published one of these days, entitled " Menses in the Context of Physiological Cleansing " , cross-posted from the PathOfHealth archive, post #3465 in that group. Best to all, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Belinda Friday, July 06, 2007 3:43 AM rawfood [Raw Food] Monthly cycle question Ok. I was reading on a website promoting the 80-10-10 diet. The woman that the website belongs too was giving her testimony. In it she said that she was having her periods about every 6 months, they were very light but she was still fertile. She new she was fertile because the spike in her temp. She seemed to believe this was a good thing, but I was thinking this was not normal. Then it came to me that maybe the 80-10-10 folks believe it is not normal or necessary for women to have a period every 28 days. Of course I have known lots of women with unpredictable cycles that eat a SAD diet. They go months sometimes without a period. I have no idea if they are fertile anyway though. But I don't think the doctors are alarmed by the inconsistency of their cycles. It also reminded me of a conversation with some young women (in their 20's) and they were telling me about a new pill that was out that when taken would only allow one period a year. So perhaps the medical field now believes that 28 day cycles are not necassary? What's the deal on this? Belinda
Guest guest
Ahhhhh!! Thank you, Elchanan! This would explain why before changing my lifestyle to the 80-10-10 diet, I was was having very " heavy periods " and became extremely anemic. My doctor at that time put me on B-12 shots and iron. Since changing my lifestyle my periods have lessened greatly, almost to nonexistence. I just have a day or two at the most of very light spotting. I'm off the B-12 shots and feel great!! Guest guest
Janie, how long did it take for this to happen after you begin eating this way. And how old are you? Belinda > Ahhhhh!! Guest guest
hmm well this will be interesting to see what will happen if there are any changes I didn't start until I was 17. They have always been light pain free and well to be a bit graphic no bad smell I wonder if I will notice any change. One thing that has changed is that I don't like coffee at all anymore- Emrawfood , " Elchanan " <Elchanan wrote: > > Wonderful, I feel such happiness for you when I read about your experience, > Janie! > Elchanan > _____ > > rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of > bentsmom > Friday, July 06, 2007 9:05 AM > rawfood > [Raw Food] Re: Monthly cycle question > > > Ahhhhh!!
