Hi Caron,

In the world of Natural Hygiene, there is no such thing as a cure. A

cure represents Human's attempt to have power over Nature, to treat a

mysterious symptom and make it go away. Understanding the

relationship between our bodies and Nature, and then removing the

cause of symptoms is the only way to reverse dis-ease. As many of us

know, cancer survivors who have undergone chemo and radiation, often

have a recurrence of the dis-ease because the lifestyles and habits

that caused the dis-ease continued.

All the dis-eases you mentioned are the same, but different

manifestations of accumulated toxemia. And none were " cured " by food.

The body was merely allowed to cleanse, build, and repair as it was

always meant to do.

You wrote:

" This is why I acknowledge that every symptom I have stems back to the

way I've been eating all my life, and that the only way to change

things is to change the way I've been eating. "

There is much more to good health than food. Fresh air, sunlight,

pure water, adequate rest, good relationships, and many other things

contribute to a state of optimal health. I see you mentioned that

there are other facets to health and you are correct.

- Elchanan I do so hope that what you

write, excerpted below, is not what you actually believe. For there

are no cures (other than for bacon and the like). Every part of our

being cleanses, restores, and replenishes itself ... when we create

life-affirming conditions, when we make life-affirming choices.

That's why " cure " was in quotation marks - I did actually read on a

website that this guy had " cured " his fibromyalgia by going raw.

(I've also read that diabeties, high cholesterol, heart disease, you

name it, have been " cured " by going raw). I'm using the word " cure " ,

as it's meant in a medical context - ie, to fix a disease or problem.

It's what I've been looking for, for years, and why I came here,

initially. That changed a few minutes after I joined the group..

My weeks of reading here, and picking brains (in particular, yours,

thankyou!), I've come to understand quite a few things, including

things that have been sitting quietly at the back of my brain, waiting

patiently for me to wake up and hear them. This is why I acknowledge

that every symptom I have stems back to the way I've been eating all

my life, and that the only way to change things is to change the way

I've been eating. I know there's many other facets to health, and I'm

seeing some of these fall into place as I go along. (I'm waiting on

my book to arrive so I can find out what the others are ;o) )

Hi Janet,

That's basically the conclusion I've arrived at, so thanks for clarifying

what I was trying to say :o) I was comparing my way of thinking before I

read and heard the things I've come across since joining this group, and the

transition I'm making to this way of thinking. I'm getting there :o)

Pleasure! I'm pleased to see you making strides. It has been and

will be interesting to see you look at your present knowledge with

your new lens. :)
