Yes, Jeannie ...then deal with the source of the boredom. I assure you, that

source shall never be found upon your plate. You lack self-love and

commitment, to yourself most of all ... as do most people. And you lack the

patience that can only come from such commitment, rooted in self-love. Find

self-love, and the rest will follow. Don't find self-love, and you'll still

be writing stuff like this 50 years hence.

I'm not saying anything is " right " or " wrong " . I'm merely suggesting that

you use some of that free will with which you seem so enamored. Also, I

encourage you to go back and read some of my posts on subconscious causes of

behavior. We DO possess free will, and much of the time we use it not.

I don't mean to sound harsh ... yet I do mean to speak to you straight. Hope

that's okay!

Best,

Elchanan

Elchanan,

You wrote:

" No other animal on the planet creates recipes, and no other animal

on the planet seems bored eating its natural diet. "

I just had to respond to this line:

No other animal on the planet has the " free will " that we have. They don't

posess the thinking and communication skills we do. They don't have access

to the same equipment we do. No other animals on the planet wear clothing

like we do, drive cars, live in houses like we do.

I too get bored with eating the same old raw stuff on a daily basis. After

having grown up with a very varied and diverse meal plan for all meals, I am

just having a hard time with the same old stuff day in and day out.

I am working on it and doing the best I can, one day at a time.

I don't know that I would put human/animals and the rest of the animals on

the same playing field, so to speak.

Respectfully,

Jeannie

Elchanan, I don't mind at all, I welcome it. We are having a debate, an

" echange " of ideas, comments, suggestions, etc...

It is not so much that I am " enamored " with free will, It is just that it is

what we, indeed, possess. Given to us by God. For those of us that believe. You

are right many people, (myself included) do not excersise it as we should. This

does not mean we don't have it.

I agree with your premise that most everything we do is out of self-love or lack

of. I thought I did love myself, but apparently I do not. This is evident in the

way I have abused my body over the years. I don't know the source of my self

abuse, I wish I did. I shall go and read your previous posts on this subject as

time allows.

I do appreciate these exchanges.

your time is the most cherished gift of all, tomorrow is promised to no one.

There are many that would disagree that there is such a thing as free will.

The Advaita teachings are one such Source. that suggest this is the case (no

free will) and also suggest personal investigation of the matter.

But for those that don't believe the same as you?

So I have to have it regardless? Are you imposing the idea of free will upon

me?

I have never yet seen any convincing proof of free will, only conditioned

belief that it is so.

who is right? ;)
