Guest guest
Erica, In your post # 32900 you write .... " As a rawfoodist, his efforts are noteworthy and appreciated by myself at least, especially since this board is NOT all natural hygienists (isn't their a specific group for that? " I went back and read the home page of this group...it states..... " You are also welcome to share your experiences with NATURAL HYGIENE. Animals in the wild live according to their instinct and the laws of nature. They live their lives without getting cancer, heart disease, stroke and the other diseases of so-called " civilization. " No animal in the wild takes supplements. They just eat the foods they are biologically adapted to. Natural Hygiene is a study of nature and of health. So come and share your experiences of nature in action " From this homepage, I took it that natural hygienists are welcome to express their views. Am I reading this wrong????????????? Am I reading this wrong????????????? > > Be Well, Be Happy... > Janie I saw that too. But it also says this: Stop cooking your foods! Increasing the RAW FOOD in your diet can greatly improve your health! Food ENZYMES are important to your health. Let's share info, tips, sources, url's, recipes and personal experiences with eating more RAW FOOD. This group is here to support people wanting to learn how to eat a Healthy Raw Food Diet. Just because something is raw doesn't necessarily mean it is the best thing for us. This group supports a Vegan Raw Food Diet. Please don't come here trying to promote other diets. Natural Hygiene is a study of nature and of health. So come and share your experiences of nature in action. We can also discuss the writings of authors in the raw food movement including Dr. Herbert Shelton, Dr. Douglas Graham, David Wolfe, Dr. Gabriel Cousens and so on. REgarding this: " You are also welcome to share your experiences with NATURAL HYGIENE. " " Also " implies IN ADDITION to discussing the raw food vegan diet. Does it not? And regarding this: " Animals in the wild live according to their instinct and the laws of nature. They live their lives without getting cancer, heart disease, stroke and the other diseases of so-called " civilization. " No animal in the wild takes supplements. They just eat the foods they are biologically adapted to. " This statement above is not indicative of natural hygiene exclusively at all. It is true of all raw food vegans. Some non 8/1/1-ers believe in supplements, others don't, and some follow Graham but include supplements.... a lot of us argue that supplements are just dehydrated whole food, which is true. However, there are bigger things for me to worry about than whether Billy Joe Bob in Arkansas is doing supplements or not. If people are true to their body and they start getting deficient, they'll figure it out. What scares me is the propaganda surrounding raw where if they notice symptoms of deficiency after years and years, they blame detox or deny it and would never take a supplement because they " don't believe in them " and instead of listening to their body, they listen to some guru who could never know their body better than they do. THAT is what freaks me out, not whether someone uses supplements or not. To get back to the point, I maintain that this group says it's for raw food in general, pretty much, although you can expect to hear about hygiene, which is fine. Cousens and Wolfe are not hygienists and they are listed too. Erica

Guest guest
Erica, Well said. I certainly appreciate your posts here and the balance you try to bring into discussions without the drum beating. Raw Food is not the answer to all lifes' problems as is clear on this list. Seriously, I find some ( a very small part only ) of the things I read here border on fascism and that's probably being kind. just to be clear about this; copied from my on-line dictionary. Fanaticism hears only its own tune. It doesn't really need to be spoken out about, it carries its own message quite clearly. and Raw Food is not a cure. Having said all that, (this depends on your sense of humour) how boring would " South Park " be without Cartman? Or ST:Voyager without the Doctor? The more outrageous they are the funnier it is. The variety of life allows for the arrogant as well as the humble. AIUI all are welcome here. neal.

Cartman is the best!! It's true that it's funny, but it's scary when people start being lured by the messenger and then blindly follow the message. In any situation. For example, it is absolutely untrue that women should lose their periods, that that is a symptom of " great health " . And scary it is being preached as health (only hardcore NH people believe this). So, that is the only context that is not funny.
