Guest guest
Hi Erin; I thought your question was interesting, so I did some reading. Apparently, it is! Here are some reports on it: http://thyroid.about.com/cs/latestresearch/a/celiac.htm http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/glutenceliac.htm In this article, http://www.gluten.net/celiac.html it says: " Thyroid diseases and diabetes are the two most commonly associated diseases found with celiac disease. " Thanks for asking! I'm glad to have found out about this! Deborah Does anyone know if there is a connection between gluten intolerance and/or celiac disease and hypo- thyroidism? Thanks, -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog .
Guest guest
I really dont know.I just know that I came down with HYPOTHROIDISM and FOOD ALLERGIES about the same time I almost died and they finally did allergy test and found I had allergies. They had already found the thyroid problem which runs in my family anyways. I inherited it. But noone in my family has food allergies but me. so to me they are connected. But I can't be for sure about it. Just my 2 cents. thanks Carolyn Malone Lampasas,Tx www.my.tupperware.com/carolynmalone Erin <truepatriot wrote: Does anyone know if there is a connection between gluten intolerance and/or celiac disease and hypo- thyroidism? Guest guest
I was on the Celiac.com website earlier today and found this. Most of the articles are a couple of years old, but are appear to be relevant. http://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=7 Marie =) On 9/14/06, Carolyn Malone <honeycomb44 wrote: > > I really dont know.I just know that I came down with HYPOTHROIDISM and > FOOD ALLERGIES about the same time I almost died and they finally did > allergy test and found I had allergies. Guest guest
There is a connection between celiac and hypothyroid. Actually there's a connection between all the autoimmune diseases.
