* There is a Master Cleanse . Just go to the groups home

page and do a search for Master Cleanse. The people there will probably have

some good info for you.

I have completed 10 days on master cleanse. I did a colon flush and

really bad stuff came out. I am considering continuing the cleanse for

longer and doing more enemas. Is this recommended? I am really ready

to eat, mostly because I love food and miss it so much. Can anyone

tell me if doing repeated enemas is safe and if so should I be

supplementing with something? I have heard that too many can deplete

needed nutrients and since I have little to spare on the no food plan

I want to be safe. Thanks.

how I feel AFTER it is all over.

There is now a folder of links in the Links section of the list

website, under FASTING. rawfood/links

My FAQ and the recipe are in the FILES section of the list website:

rawfood

The book from which this information came is listed in the book

database and can be ordered from amazon.com

The lemons are at the supermarket. The water is probably there, too.

The sea salt, cayenne, and maple syrup are at the health food store.

Leah and Judy,

I am on my 5th day of the master cleanse and so far so good. Working full

time and its physical work as well. I am tired but that is the reason I decided

to do the cleanse to begin with. The job is physically challenging for a 54

year old but then again even the younger seem just as tired they just move with

more ease. I am hoping to complete the minimum 10 day cleanse.

To share a stated portion of the book:

" Recap of the steps to be taken in the diet. Be careful to read the entire

instructions so that the diet will be of the best benefit to you. First prepare

yourself mentally to follow in detail the entire directions and continue as

long as is needed to make the necessary changes. One of the best signals of the

completed diet is when the formerly coated and fuzzy tongue is clear pink and

clean looking. During the diet it becomes very badly coated. "

I'm beginning the Master Cleanse tomorrow (tonight with the tea).

We can do this together!

Think of it as a spring cleaning...even raw needs cleaning now and

then.

I think the master cleanse is pointless if you are

using maple syrup reemember even if you can get your

hands on organic maple syrup that still does not mean

that it is raw. they have to boil it down in order to

achieve a thick consistency. I reccommend using

organic raw agave syrup from natures first law

instead. You can't have cooked maple syrup why'll

trying to detoxify since the maple syrup when cooked

turns that fat in the syrup into free radicals in

you'r body which damages cells in the body and at the

same time you are trying to clean yourself out and

that seems very contradicting to me.

to good health and raw power!

Melody, I have no idea. I wouldn't do it to my body. It seems like it

causes a lot of unnecessary trauma. A water fast would make more

sense to me but raw food is cleansing in and of itself.

It calls for grade B because it's less refined and has more nutirents

than grade A. I'd do it they way it's written to insure that you're

getting enough nutrition.

I tried it a few weeks ago and let me just say....NEVER AGAIN!!!! My

mom tried it first and threw up for two days. So I tried it and

literally could not leave the bathroom. I know a lot of people have

great results with it, but I was not one of them. I will gladly stick

to my yearly raw vegan detox.

Hi Shannon;

I understand! Although it was very unpleasant for her, a violently ill reaction

like that usually indicates that her body was taking advantage of the cleanse to

actually do what she wanted: CLEANSE. All that vomiting usually comes from the

liver detoxifying, dumping toxins that it has been storing, into the digestive

tract where they can be eliminated. That reaction is usually the worst when

people go suddenly from a Standard American diet high in animal products, fats,

caffeine, sugar, alcohol, etc onto a cleansing program of any sort.

It's much, much easier on the body to go into a cleansing program gradually.

Start cleaning up the lifestyle in steps... reducing the intake of toxins

gradually, allowing the body to clean out slowly. Depending on how bad her

dietary habits are, it might take her as much as a year or two to prepare

herself to do a Master Cleanse without such a dramatic reaction.

Your way of doing a yearly raw vegan lifestyle is an example of such a step that

can lead to a more comfortable Master Cleanse. Doing it after you have lived on

the vegan raw diet for a few weeks, you might find a fasting cleanse much

easier.

Ultimately, it's easier on the body when we move towards eating a healthy diet

more of the time... which keeps our internal environment cleaner... which makes

periodic cleansing less necessary. :-)
