Guest guest Posted October 9, 2006 Report Share Posted October 9, 2006 Egg Yolk Substitute Source: Ten Talents *used for binding* 1 part soy flour plus 2 parts water Mix soy flour with water in blender until very thick. Double boil 1 hour. With egg beater, whip in: 2 Tbsp. oil 1/4 tsp. salt for each cup of soy flour mix. Store in refridgerator. Will get very thick when cold. Use 2 or 3 spoonsfuls as binder for loaves, patties, cookies. What's up with the egg yolk elimination? Hi Rex, In addition to being a gluten free , we are also a vegan group --- therefore, no animal products (meat, dairy, cheese, eggs, etc.).
